Brotherly love: Strome family bond runs deep

Center Ryan Strome adjusted quite nicely to his first full season with the New York Islanders.

Now, the 22-year-old only wishes for the same for younger brother Dylan Strome, who was selected by the Arizona Coyotes with the third overall pick of the 2015 draft.

"It's pretty cool to see him in the spotlight," Strome told NHL.com. "I'm getting to spend a lot more time with him this summer and it's been great. We're obviously really close, but it's cool to be together every day and see him grow. He's right there knocking on the door of being an NHL player and it's awesome to see from where he's come."

As for Ryan, he came pretty far himself since being selected with the fifth overall pick of the 2011 draft. Strome collected 17 goals and 33 assists and recorded a team-leading plus-23 rating last season for the Islanders.

Dylan Strome, 18, scored 45 goals and set up an Ontario Hockey League-best 84 others in 68 games with the Erie Otters last season.

While two Stromes will be on the ice in short order, a third brother is making his way up the ranks. Matthew was picked eighth overall by Hamilton of the OHL Priority Selection in April and is eligible for the 2017 NHL draft.
