Flyers' Mason to return from layoff versus Stars

Goaltender Steve Mason will receive his first start in 10 days when the Philadelphia Flyers host the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.

Mason had missed the Flyers' last two games while dealing with a personal family issue. Michal Neuvirth made the most of those starts by turning aside all 31 shots he faced in a 1-0 victory over the Florida Panthers on Oct. 12 and finished with 30 saves in a 3-0 triumph over the Chicago Blackhawks two nights later.

"I'm definitely a little anxious," Mason told the team's website. "Got the butterflies, but I think that's a good thing. Ready to get that first shot out of the way and move forward."

Mason struggled in his last contest, yielding four goals in 6 minutes, 46 seconds in a 7-1 setback to the Panthers on Oct. 10. The 27-year-old Ontario native is 0-1-1 with a 6.12 goals-against average and .825 save percentage in two games this season after posting an 18-18-11 mark with three shutouts and a 2.25 GAA in 2014-15.
