Flyers' Voracek isn't fazed by slow start

Jakub Voracek isn't too worried about another slow start after finishing last season with a career high in assists (59) and points (81).

"Every single season my starts aren't the best and I am trying to find the quickest way possible to get to that midseason form," Voracek told Philly.com on Sunday.

Voracek hasn't provided much in the way of an early return on the team's considerable investment, as he's recorded just one assist in four games after signing an eight-year, $66 million deal in the offseason. The 26-year-old Czech does lead the team with 16 shots, however.

Voracek had notched nearly a point per game last season, with his 22 goals falling just one off his career high in 2013-14. His 81 points were the fourth-best in the league, six behind Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn.

The seventh overall pick of the 2007 draft, Voracek has scored 124 goals and set up 249 others in 535 career games with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Flyers.

Voracek looks to get it in gear as Philadelphia (2-1-1) hosts Benn and the Stars (4-1-0) on Tuesday.
