'Let's go Islanders' chant erupts as Billy Joel closes out Coliseum

Musicians Billy Joel and Paul Simon weren't the only ones who broke into song during the former's final concert at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Tuesday.

Clearly in a "New York State of Mind", Joel took a moment to address the audience and lamented the loss of hockey in Uniondale. After a chorus of boos, a massive "Let's go Islanders" chant erupted throughout the arena.

Simon also heard his fair share of boos after admitting that he was a fan of the rival New York Rangers. He then did his best to make amends, comparing the Islanders' move to the Barclays Center with that of the Brooklyn Dodgers leaving for California.

Now, Simon's geography was a bit off as he had the baseball team shuffling to San Francisco rather than Los Angeles, but the sentiment appeased the fans.
