Maple Leafs celebrate Blue Jays with video tribute on Opening Night

Mike Babcock said he wanted to use the Toronto Blue Jays' playoff run as a way to distract fans while his team gets its act together on the ice. It looks like he wasn't kidding.

The Leafs took time out of their home opener Wednesday night to pay tribute to the Blue Jays, who will be making their first playoff appearance in over two decades. The Jays were in the house for the game and watched from a luxury box. They all donned Leafs jerseys and hats -- all except for Liam Hendriks, the Australian reliever who chose to represent the rival Canadiens Wednesday night.

Marcus Stroman in particular seemed to have a great time as he proudly tweeted about his Leafs jersey and the chance to take in the game Wednesday night.

The Maple Leafs gave the Jays a great send-off with a special video tribute, and Leafs fans erupted into a chorus of "Let's go Blue Jays" cheers.

Perhaps winning teams could be contagious in Toronto. The Leafs will just have to wait and see.
