The Nashville Predators Have Announced the Signing of Bottom Pair Defenseman Yannick Weber on Tuesday.

After a highly successful post-season run for the Nashville Predators, it's not obvious there would be some re-signings of some very important depth players. One of which was Yannick Weber, he registered just one point in the 22 playoff games he appeared in, he finished with an even plus/minus rating and only registered five penalty minutes which is pretty solid.

The deal is worth $650,000 for just a single year, the details on if it's a two-way contract is still unknown though. He previously signed a one-year deal on July 1st in 2016. He played 73 games for the Preds during the 2016-17 campaign only putting up eight points.

Since his NHL debut in 2008-09, Weber has only managed to put up 78 points, 23 goals and 55 assists in 347 games between Nashville, Vancouver, and Montreal. But in 155 AHL games between Hamilton and Utica, Weber put up a solid 95 points and played in the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic game and was also named AHL Rookie of the Year in that same season.

Drafted 73rd overall in 2007, Weber has seen a lot of success on the same line as Roman Josi internationally in the 2010 and 2014 Olympics. He's also appeared in three World Championships, three World Junior's, and some Under-18 Competitions as well.

When Weber first came over to North America he spent two seasons in the OHL playing for the Kitchener Rangers. He was named to the OHL All-Star team both seasons and in 2008 helped the club win a title and advance to the Memorial Cup.
