The Ottawa Senators run a series of hockey camps for kids through the summer, and one of the benefits of attending includes the possibility of meeting a member of the Senators. The most recent Senator to make an appearance was forward Kyle Turris, who visited a fundamentals camp for beginner hockey players on Wednesday.

Turris signed some sticks and shirts, played soccer with the kids, and then participated in something any child of this decade is accustomed to doing when meeting someone: taking selfies.

Turris said his visit to the camp was a rite of passage.

"We were those kids not long ago, and I have fond memories of a camp like this or going down and banging on the glass for a game and having a guy throw the puck over the glass in the warmup," Turris told the media at the camp. "It’s memories like this that last with you a long time."

On Friday, Turris will likely take some more selfies, as the Ottawa Citizen reported Turris is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of the Canadian Little League Championship tournament in Barrhaven, Ont.
