Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang is nursing an upper-body injury and will sit out Friday's contest against the Los Angeles Kings, coach Mike Johnston announced.

Blue-liner Rob Scuderi is expected to enter the lineup in place of Letang, who returned from a two-game absence to log 22:51 of ice time in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

The 28-year-old Letang missed the previous contests - including a 5-3 setback to Los Angeles on Saturday - with an undisclosed injury.

Letang has scored one goal and set up 13 others in 25 games this season. He has collected 67 tallies and 232 assists in 516 career contests - all with the Penguins.
