Watch the Islanders score two goals in three seconds to beat the Penguins

It's been a real rough start to this season for the New York Islanders. However, they did manage to come away with a big win over the Penguins on Wednesday night in Brooklyn, and they did so in dramatic fashion.

The Isles have had a bit of trouble protecting leads, so when they surrendered a three-goal advantage over the Penguins in the third period it looked like it might be another disappointing night for them. However, the Isles came up with some late-game heroics, scoring twice in just three seconds to seal the victory in the final minute of regulation.

The go-ahead goal came on an Anders Lee deflection in front of the Pittsburgh net. Lee, who had plenty of space to operate thanks to some blown coverage by the Pens, was able to get his stick on a Thomas Hickey shot and redirect it past goaltender Matt Murray for the 4-3 lead with 26.6 seconds left in the game.

Any worries that the Islanders would blow yet another lead in the game were quickly dashed when they managed to score immediately off the ensuing face-off. Nikolay Kulemin received the draw and fired it into the empty net to double their lead.

And, as it turns out, a two-goal lead with 23.5 seconds remaining on the clock is Islanders-proof.
