Wild's Suter: 'I feel like we've hit rock bottom'

Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter is tired of being a part of the same old story.

Such is life when your club loses its seventh in a row (0-5-2) and 12th of the last 13 games (1-10-2) following Thursday's 4-3 setback to the Washington Capitals. The downward spiral has the sputtering Wild (23-21-10) residing two points behind the Nashville Predators (25-21-8) for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

With the team struggling, Suter is having a tough time keeping an optimistic attitude. Via Minneapolis Star Tribune:

"You usually have to hit rock bottom to go up, and I feel like we've hit rock bottom."

Suter did his best to rock the Capitals, unleashing a blast from the point on Thursday to trim the Wild's deficit to 3-2 at 7:35 of the third period. The 31-year-old Suter has a team-best 28 assists and his 35 points are just two behind captain Mikko Koivu for the club lead.

Suter will see if his team truly has hit rock bottom when it takes the ice on Saturday afternoon against the visiting Boston Bruins.
