Yeo on Wild's OT failures: 'This can't continue. It's frustrating'

Minnesota Wild coach Mike Yeo has seen the situation play out five out of six times this season.

Despite the less-than-desired result, Yeo wasn't overly frazzled about "X's and O's" after the Wild dropped a 2-1 decision to the Central Division-rival Colorado Avalanche on Monday. He was irked by the team's failure to take advantage of its opportunities.

"It's not really a tactical thing here. We've got to finish when we get an opportunity," Yeo told the Minneapolis Star Tribune of the team's overtime record this season. "This can’t continue. It’s frustrating."

Zach Parise, who recorded a hat trick in the season-opening win over the Avalanche on Oct. 8, scored Minnesota's lone goal with 6:09 remaining in regulation on Monday. Parise then nearly won the contest in overtime before his tip of captain Mikko Koivu's shot was denied by Colorado goaltender Semyon Varlamov.

The Wild (14-7-5), who are 3-0-2 in their last five contests, face the Arizona Coyotes on Friday.
