The NFL announced Friday afternoon that San Diego Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa was voted the Pepsi Rookie of the Week for Week 7.

Bosa had two sacks and seven tackles during the Bolts' comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons on the road. Despite only playing in three games so far, Bosa is now tied with Melvin Ingram for the team lead with four sacks on the season. Bosa also had two sacks in his NFL debut against the Oakland Raiders in Week 5.

With Sunday's performance, Bosa became the first rookie in franchise history with multiple sacks in two of his first three games. He joins teammate Jatavis Brown, who won the Pepsi Rookie of the Week honors for Week his Week 6 performance against the Denver Broncos, as the two rookie Chargers to win the award. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has won the award three times this season.
