The Los Angeles Kings are moving and shaking in advance of Friday night's NHL Draft.

General manager Dean Lombardi announced Friday that the Kings have acquired forward Milan Lucic from the Boston Bruins in exchange for goalie Martin Jones, defenseman Colin Miller and the No. 13 overall selection in the draft.

The Kings needed to make a move to strengthen the roster after what ended up being a very disappointing season, coming off a Stanley Cup win in 2014.

The 27-year-old winger appeared in 81 games last season for the Bruins, netting 18 goals with 26 helpers and a +13 rating.

While it's never the best idea to trade away draft picks, acquiring an eight-year veteran who's won a Stanley Cup and has gas left in the tank seems worth the risk.
