Kings trade for Lecavalier, Schenn

The LA Kings and Philadelphia Flyers have been more than willing trade partners over the past few years. Today the the teams made a trade for a former 'Rocket' Richard Trophy winner and a player with a familiar last name for Kings' fans.

In exchange for prospect Jordan Weal and a third-round pick in the 2016 draft, the LA Kings welcomed forward Vincent Lecavalier and defensemen Luke Schenn.

Lecavalier, 35, won a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lighting in 2004 and led the NHL in scoring in 2007 but has just one point from one assist in his seven games this season. Lecavalier has announced today that he will retire at the end of the 2015-2016 season.

Schenn, 26, is the brother of former Kings center Brayden, who oddly enough was traded to the Flyers by the Kings back in 2011 as part of the deal that brought Mike Richard to LA.
