No boos here: Philly gives LeBron his due after milestone

Published Nov. 3, 2015 10:00 a.m. ET

It may be the first time Philadelphia fans have so vehemently cheered an opposing player that wasn't a former player in that city.

Notorious for some of their negative reactions to foes, the Philly faithful gave props to LeBron James once he reached a career milestone at Wells Fargo Center Monday night.

James recorded points 25,000 and 25,001 of his career on a fourth quarter alley-oop from Matthew Dellavedova.

"For the crowd to acknowledge what I've been able to do over my career thus far and getting a standing ovation -- and also in the moment in the run that we were having -- it is special," James told Allie Clifton on FOX Sports Ohio after the game.

At the age of 30, James is the youngest to reach 25,000, beating legends Kobe Bryant and Wilt Chamberlain to the mark.

The Cavs beat the Sixers 107-100 to move to 3-1 on the season.
