Reports: Grizzlies agree to terms with free agent Brandan Wright

The Memphis Grizzlies continue to bulk up their frontcourt after agreeing to terms with free-agent forward Brandan Wright, according to multiple media reports. The two sides reportedly agreed on a three-year, $18 million deal -- an agreement that will utilize Memphis' valuable mid-level exception.

The deal can not be finalized until the NBA lifts its free-agent moratorium on July 9. The agreement was first reported by Yahoo! Sports.

On the first day of free agency, one that proved to be a buyer's market one season prior to the league's TV deal escalating the salary cap, locking up Wright for approximately $6 million annually was a relatively quiet move.

Still, the 27-year-old was a useful piece while splitting time between Dallas, Boston and Phoenix last season, averaging 7.3 points and 4.3 rebounds. A Tennessee native -- Wright was a blue-chip recruit out of high school, signing with North Carolina -- Wright should help add depth to what should be another excellent Grizzlies frontcourt.

Memphis' biggest free-agent piece, First-Team All-NBA center Marc Gasol, remains on the market, but all signs point to the franchise's centerpiece staying put.

If so, Wright will add quality bench depth behind Gasol and Zach Randolph. The Grizzlies will also have former first-round pick Jordan Adams, JaMychal Green, Jarnell Stokes and 2015 top draft pick Jarell Martin under contract as potential frontcourt pieces.
