Shorthanded Suns no match for Nuggets

DENVER -- Will Barton had 19 points and 10 rebounds, Gary Harris scored 16 points, and the Denver Nuggets cruised to a 106-81 victory over the Phoenix Suns in a preseason game Friday night.

Kenneth Faried and Joffrey Lauvergne added 15 points each for Denver, which led 53-36 at halftime.

Alex Len scored 14 points and Devin Booker had 13 for the Suns. Phoenix shot 33 percent from the field (27 for 81), including 9 for 29 (31 percent) on 3-pointers.

NUGGETS: Wilson Chandler had 10 points and 19 rebounds in a game-high 34 minutes. ... Jameer Nelson had 12 assists. ... Danilo Gallinari and Emmanuel Mudiay were given the night off by coach Michael Malone.

SUNS: Markieff Morris had seven points on 3-for-13 shooting and grabbed five rebounds. ... Tyson Chandler had one point, three rebounds and one steal in nine minutes. He was ejected after drawing two technical fouls with 9:45 left in the third quarter for arguing with officials over what he considered a missed call. ... Point guards Eric Bledose and Ronnie Price did not play due to illnesses.

STAR WATCH: Faried scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half, helping the Nuggets build their 27-point halftime lead.

UP NEXT: Phoenix visits San Antonio on Tuesday. Denver plays at Oklahoma City on Sunday.
