Young Bucks Tracker: April 7 edition

With two-thirds of the roster born after 1990, the Milwaukee Bucks are a young, growing team. Every Thursday for the rest of the season, FOX Sports Wisconsin will take a closer look at the players that are 25 years old and younger (for the most part, those still in their first four NBA seasons), measuring, highlighting and evaluating their progress.

This is the 20th edition of the 2015-16 Young Bucks Tracker.

A glossary of the advanced statistics used for season totals:

PER -- Player Efficiency Rating: A measure of per-minute production standardized such that the league average is 15.

TS% -- True Shooting Percentage: A measure of shooting efficiency that takes into account 2-point field goals, 3-point field goals, and free throws.

USG% -- Usage Percentage: An estimate of the percentage of team plays used by a player while he was on the floor.

ORtg -- Offensive Rating: An estimate of points produced per 100 possessions.

DRtg -- Defensive Rating: An estimate of points allowed per 100 possessions.

VORP -- Value over Replacement Player: A box score estimate of the points per 100 TEAM possessions that a player contributed above a replacement-level (-2.0) player, translated to an average team and prorated to an 82-game season.

GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO (Age 21, third season)

Statistical season averages (last week): 16.8 points (24.7), 7.6 rebounds (10.0), 4.3 assists (9.3), 1.2 steals (1.3), 1.4 blocks (1.3), 35.4 minutes (40.3), 50.7 FG% (54.7), 22.6 3PT% (50.0).

Advanced stats, season: 18.7 PER, 56.3 percent TS%, 22.3 percent USG%, 109 ORtg, 107 DRtg, 2.9 VORP.

Notable: Take a look at Giannis' stats last week -- he nearly averaged a triple-double. In fact, he recorded his fifth triple-double of the season, and that might have been his worst game of the week (he made only 5 of 13 shots against Orlando, compared to a combined 24 of 40 shots in the other two). His 34 points against Chicago were a career high and only the second time he's topped 30 (also Nov. 19, 2015 at Cleveland). Does the season really have to end?

TYLER ENNIS (Age 21, second season)

Statistical season averages (last week): 4.2 points (8.7), 1.5 rebounds (3.3), 1.7 assists (3.7), 0.5 steals (2.0), 0.0 blocks (0.0), 12.5 minutes (28.0), 44.4 FG% (50.0), 34.3 3PT% (50.0).

Advanced stats, season: 11.2 PER, 50.8 percent TS%, 18.1 percent USG%, 100 ORtg, 111 DRtg, -0.4 VORP.

Notable: Even with the return of Greivis Vasquez and Antetokounmpo essentially the point guard, Ennis is playing. He's had at least 22 minutes of court time in five straight games, with a high of 30:46 vs. Chicago. Given the playing time, Ennis is, well, showing something. He had eight assists against the Bulls and is shooting the ball well (48.4 percent from the field over the last 14 games).

JOHN HENSON (Age 25, fourth season)

Statistical season averages (last week): 6.8 points (0.7), 3.8 rebounds (1.3), 1.0 assists (1.0), 0.3 steals (0.0), 1.9 blocks (0.3), 16.6 minutes (9.0), 58.3 FG% (25.0), n/a 3PT% (n/a).

Advanced stats, season: 19.2 PER, 59.3 percent TS%, 18.5 percent USG%, 110 ORtg, 105 DRtg, 0.9 VORP.

Notable: It was not a good week for Henson, who saw his playing time and production dwindle and his beloved North Carolina lose the national championship game on a buzzer-beater. I mean, he had only one block in roughly 27 minutes this past week.

Advanced stats, season: 6.3 PER, 40.0 percent TS%, 15.1 percent USG%, 78 ORtg, 107 DRtg, -0.2 VORP.

Notable: Inglis appeared in two of the three games last week and hasn't scored since March 23.

KHRIS MIDDLETON (Age 24, fourth season)

Statistical season averages (last week): 18.2 points (18.0), 3.8 rebounds (5.0), 4.1 assists (4.0), 1.6 steals (5.0), 0.3 blocks (2.0), 36.4 minutes (38.0), 44.1 FG% (47.1), 40.2 3PT% (28.6).

Advanced stats, season: 16.7 PER, 55.9 percent TS%, 22.9 percent USG%, 109 ORtg, 110 DRtg, 1.8 VORP.

Notable: A thigh injury forced Middleton to miss the last two games and he is questionable for Friday's tilt at Boston.

JOHNNY O'BRYANT (Age 22, second season)

Statistical season averages (last week): 2.9 points (5.3), 2.6 rebounds (4.0), 0.5 assists (0.7), 0.3 steals (0.3), 0.1 blocks (0.3), 12.8 minutes (18.0), 40.0 FG% (66.7), 1.000 3PT% (n/a).

Advanced stats, season: 7.1 PER, 42.8 percent TS%, 13.4 percent USG%, 94 ORtg, 111 DRtg, -0.9 VORP.

Notable: O'Bryant hadn't played 20 minutes in a game since Dec. 15, but did it twice last week, including 30:35 vs. Cleveland (albeit that was, of course, a blowout). O'Bryant had four points and five rebounds against Chicago and 12 and seven vs. the Cavs, while making 8 of 10 shots, so perhaps he's making a case to continue seeing time on the court.

JABARI PARKER (Age 20, second season)

Statistical season averages (last week): 13.9 points (23.0), 5.2 rebounds (6.7), 1.8 assists (4.0), 0.9 steals (0.7), 0.4 blocks (0.0), 31.8 minutes (42.0), 49.5 FG% (51.9), 24.1 3PT% (0.0).

Advanced stats, season: 15.0 PER, 53.8 percent TS%, 20.6 percent USG%, 107 ORtg, 111 DRtg, -0.1 VORP.

Notable: Parker has played 40 or more minutes in a game seven times this season. Three of those occurred last week. While most eyes have been on Antetokounmpo, Parker has been breaking out as well, with three 20+-point games in his last four contests.

RASHAD VAUGHN (Age 19, first season)

Statistical season averages (last week): 2.8 points (7.0), 1.2 rebounds (3.0), 0.5 assists (1.3), 0.4 steals (1.3), 0.2 blocks (1.0), 13.2 minutes (32.0), 30.4 FG% (31.0), 30.8 3PT% (21.4).

Advanced stats, season: 4.1 PER, 39.8 percent TS%, 13.1 percent USG%, 83 ORtg, 112 DRtg, -0.9 VORP.

Notable: The good news is Vaughn is finally getting a chance to get consistent playing time and even had a season-high (by a long shot) 44:32 against Cleveland. The bad news is he still can't get consistency with his shot. He's alternated 50.0 percent shooting performances vs. Phoenix (March 30) and Chicago (April 3) with 2 of 6 (0 of 2 on 3s) vs. Orlando (April 1) and 4 of 17 (2 of 10 from 3) vs. Cleveland (April 5). Of course, still need to remember he doesn't turn 20 until August.
