Tennessee Titans wideout Kenny Britt, who has a history of off-the-field troubles, is wanted for questioning by police after a stabbing that sent his brother to the emergency room, according to reports in The Tennesseean and The Jersey Journal.
New Jersey police were called to the home of Britt's girlfriend about a stabbing sometime after 3 a.m Sunday, according to The Jersey Journal, and they were told that Britt had accompanied his 23-year-old brother to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment. Britt's brother reportedly was stabbed in the lower back at a party, but the injury was not life-threatening.
Neither sibling was cooperative with police about the incident, according to reports.
Britt, who played his college ball at Rutgers, has had eight previous incidents involving police since he came into the league in 2009. Last July, he was arrested on suspicion of DUI at an army post on the Kentucky-Tennessee border, leading to a one-game suspension in September.
And in 2011, he was cited for two different road incidents, the first involving a police chase in New Jersey and the second stemming from a traffic stop where police suspected that Britt was driving under the influence of marijuana.
In four seasons with the Titans, Britt caught 146 balls for 2,354 yards and 19 touchdowns. He has missed 19 games to injury and suspensions.
