Agassi's bald truth about meth.

BY the time your eyes hit this page this morning, the career of one of my favourite sporting stars will probably be over. Russian MaratSafin is playing his last professional tournament. He's drawn the reigning US Open champion in the second round, so Tennis' great vodka swiller will more than likely be reeking of Smirnoff as your Weet-Bix hit the cereal bowl. He's been colourful to the very end. A train wreck you can't take your eyes off. But this week, he may just have madea little sense. He's called for Tennis great Andre Agassi to forfeitthe eight grand slam titles he won

Hand back the $31 million he raked in. Andre, after all, has admitted to quite the crime sheet. For starters. He's admitted to testing positive for hard drugs during his career and lied to ATP authoritiesto escape a ban. Wow. Crystal meth nonetheless. You get five years for that in the States. 2. Letting Brooke Shields go. In isolation, not a jailable offence, but by and large, socially unacceptable. 3. Tanking. Deliberately losing his 1996 Australian Open semi-final to avoid having to turn up for another match. And he says making it look like he was trying was the hard part. Funny. The Wallabies have been doing that for the past few seasons. And 4. Follicle fraud. Unleashing the paddle pop lion do and passing it off as his own. I knew that hairwas too good to be true.

Once again, biography time means turning the athlete into an open book, to get the punter to turn the pages. But in this case, Andre's broken every string, chapter by chapter.
