WHITE PLAINS, New York (AP) - Madison Brengle and Wayne Odesnik earned wild-card berths for the French Open by winning U.S. Tennis Association mini-tournaments.

The 18-year-old Brengle, a recent U.S. Fed Cup team selection, defeated Ahsha Rolle to emerge from an eight-woman field for a USTA wild card into the clay-court Grand Slam tournament, which begins May 25.

Brengle is ranked 274th by the WTA Tour.

The 22-year-old Odesnik, who is ranked 109th, was undefeated during round-robin play against three other men vying for a USTA wild card.

The USTA and French tennis federation have a reciprocal agreement to exchange wild-card spots at the U.S. Open and French Open in 2008.
