Eastwood FA Cup tie set to be a sell-out

Full-back Alistair Asher believes Eastwood will revel in the atmosphere of a sell-out crowd for their FA Cup tie with Wycombe on Saturday.

The last home tickets were snapped up on Monday night, while more than 500 of Wanderers' 750 allocation has already gone.

It means Coronation Park should be packed to its 2,000 capacity for the second round tie - and Asher says he and the rest of the Badgers squad cannot wait.

"We are all really excited - these are the types of games you play football for," he said. "We are doing well in the league and that is still the priority, but this is a very nice distraction.

"We are not going into it with any fear, and the fans cheering us on in their numbers is going to be a big help.

"I was at Wycombe's match against Notts County last night to check out their strengths and weaknesses and see who I will be marking.

"They did to avoid a shock against AFC Wimbledon but playing us will be something different again.

"They will probably turn up and think 'crikey', and we have to take advantage of that.

"They may be in great form but we are on a good unbeaten run and will be up for this game."

Asher reached the third round with Mansfield in 2001/02.

He said: "To reach this stage with Eastwood is an even better achievement because we have won a lot more matches to get here.

"If we win this one we can really start dreaming, because the big boys come in.

But it's one match at a time."

Eastwood beat Stocksbridge PS 1-0 away in the Challenge Cup last night thanks to a 90th-minute goal from Smith.
