EASTBOURNE Borough will travel to Wrexham on the opening day of the 2009-10 Blue Square Premier season.

The trip to the Racecourse Ground, where Borough were beaten 5-0 last season, is on Saturday August 8.

The first visitors to Priory Lane will be Blue Square South champions AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday August 11 and Rushden and Diamonds on Saturday August 15.

Boro head coach Nick Greenwood said, "We have experience of this league and we can go to places like Wrexham without any fear.

"We will go there as underdogs as they are a club with high expectations. Dean Saunders has a big squad and the fans will be expecting them to beat us.

"It was a bad result for us there last season and it gives us an early chance to put that right."

Of Boro's first home game against AFC Wimbledon, Greenwood added, "They will bring a good crowd to Priory Lane. The first two fixtures are big names and it gives our fans and the players plenty to look forward to.

"We are very excited and once again our aim will be to improve on last season."

Boro' travel to Crawley on Boxing Day before hosting them at Priory Lane on New Year's Day - with the mouthwatering home match with Luton Town sandwiched in between on Monday December 28.

Other key fixtures see Borough entertain Chester City on September 12, the long trips to Gateshead and Barrow are October 10 and March 27 respectively, while the final three fixtures are York at home, Kettering away and Oxford at home.

The full fixture list was released by bosses at Conference HQ at 10am this morning (Friday).
