Ken Rosewall taken ill in Rome

The Italian tennis federation says eight-time Grand Slam winner great Ken Rosewall has been admitted to the stroke ward of an Italian hospital after falling ill while attending the Rome Masters.
The tennis federation said early Monday that Australian tennis great Rosewall was admitted to the San Camillo hospital in Rome.
Rosewall's wife Wilma was quoted by Australia's Sydney Morning Herald on Monday saying the 76-year-old had suffered no heart or brain damage, but was being kept under observation until he was well enough to return to Australia. The newspaper quoted doctors as saying Rosewall had suffered ''a suspected disturbance of the brain circuit.''
Rosewall was attending the tournament to receive a golden racket, an award presented annually to former tennis greats.
Rosewall won 132 singles titles in his career, including four Australian Opens, two French Opens and two U.S. Opens.
