Williams not sorry about US Open tirade

Former world No. 1 Serena Williams remains unrepentant over her explosive tirade at the umpire during the final of the US Open last year.

"I honestly think I was really toned down, I didn't use any bad language or anything so I wouldn't change it so much," Williams said in Brisbane as she prepared for the upcoming Australian Open in Melbourne.

Williams was fined for her outburst at umpire Eva Asderaki during her loss to Aussie Sam Stosur at Flushing Meadows but Sunday said tennis fans could expect more emotion in her debut appearance at the Brisbane International, where Stosur will be the crowd's darling.

"I'm always going to be me, and if it means I'm giving 200 percent then that's how I am and I love that," Williams said.

"I think people can respect that when you see me play I'm going to give it all every time."

Williams showed off a fit and toned physique as she posed for photos in a daring outfit at Kangaroo Point.

"I stayed fit in the off-season. Usually I don't stay so fit, as we all know," she said. "But this year I decided to stay a little more fit in the off-season and that way I wouldn't have to work as hard coming back into tournament play."
