Nice to be here Dave after I gotta tell you I said only -- in my seat the whole race I thought it was pretty darn exciting all the way through. No big one no big swing in terms of the championship exciting but was this the Talladega do you expect him. Well the you know we all know -- people say why they always talk about the big going all you do is talk about the big and well. Because we always have the big win. I thought today's race. And it it was almost is that these drivers -- not enough I thought this might happen. They were doing a little bit a points race and when you see with 28 when he probably have to lower body single file. That's very unusual for Talladega. That caution for debris that tighten everything up created a little bit action at the end of the race but. Quite honestly if you're Jimmie Johnson and you were told that you're gonna get out of here you're still going to be the point leader I think he would be elated and so I think today was just -- watched. Not much changed. Tell Texas next week 500 miles down there. Jimmie Johnson be the man. Well I set I wasn't gonna get into that that'll Halloween it took Talladega third but I can't resist this one isn't what you just described the fact that Jimmie Johnson still leads the points after tell a day ago. I think they're gonna find out after four consecutive championships. You're not gonna shake his -- up. The only thing is gonna shake him up is -- something happens to limit Texas. Again this year like what happened to him last year but that guy is rock solid you just don't get too worried. Looking back at the -- recent weeks in their appearances on their show among other things most consist and it's has been consistency has been Kevin Harvick Montrose through chase and patience. Has been the key word for Denny Hamlin. And I'm wondering how you grade there approaches. To trying to stop. Jimmie Johnson's win streak because obviously that's what this is all well. The what -- what are really light and Davis is this this sit. Championship is coming down to the the guys that were the three best car is going into the chase the guys that were 123 and points. The guys with the most wins. Everybody that was. Just hang in an -- about it. Pair -- -- chin chin were already way back. So it comes down to these three guys in all three of these guys have fast race course that's been the key to the 48 success. Have trouble in the pits make it up on the track with a fast car. I have trouble on the track make it up with a fast car the -- fast and between now and is fast when he needs to be. Not they can't add -- I really think it Kevin gonna have to. Giving the win if he wants to beat Jimmie Johnson because the next three races are really racetracks in Jimmie Johnson pretty good bet as well as the eleventh. We'll save a prediction for the and the couple segments from now a wonder if there's anybody that you really thought would be up there contending at this point. Just didn't deliver when the time can't. It's not a sold. I gotta take David -- say this about the chase. Why I would -- why would a team that's been. Mediocre. Are maybe a little bit above average. And that barely makes -- chase or. It's -- got into the chase because they're in the top twelve in points. Why would that team all of a sudden within races to go some magic. Switch could be flipped and they would become a competitive team a team they can get up there and compete with the three guys early in the chase right now. Maybe maybe Tony Stewart was only guy would be given an outside chance at doing that and he's had you know he's just hit some bad luck. But really through those were the three best cars going in. They separated themselves from everyone else and now this is going just like I thought it would and it goes like he is thing going this way for sixty years -- got twelve. W NASCAR's gone from a pretty firm position that the COT was the ultimate race card to. Maybe a bit more flexible stance the -- -- gone will -- -- knows next year the manufacturers pushing for more brand identity. And we're hearing talk of a new car for 2013. How far down that brand identity road. Do you think NASCAR might be prepared to go. -- I think we're seeing it -- India in a Nationwide Series. That's the second generation sealed COT car if you will. I think what NASCAR knew what that car they looked at the current car that the race in cup. -- sit here and the things is wrong with that didn't have any I didn't know we're a no brand identity. And of course it had a sport when they built it so I think that car is sort of the prototype while we're gonna see in the future in the cup series. The manufacturers. Fans are gonna quit watching and not think after today -- like today people would start to tune back in when they see that kind of action. With three races left what your assessment of that philosophy change and its impact. Yep it's working itself out they've. I think hit. The drivers eventually.
