Welcome their hopes this area brought -- glad muscle milk is powerful protein drinks. A ball while Bryan Webber please beat you and I thought we got about how -- basketball analyst Scott Griffin my friends. We're watching how remarkable NCAA basketball tournament and raise your hand if you let Butler and. BC yield go to the final four and you did not. Anybody out there and has her hands up and put him down a pitcher for all of it I have this team I have is these these TCU team in the final for the -- So the fact that they're in the final four the real deal final four and they won five games to get here. Absolutely insane I gotta give them a lot of credit Shaka smart you're doing the job. This is a team that didn't even win -- the Richmond battle early in the Richmond beat them earlier this year so. To see them in that the real deal final four. That it's at -- I'm almost speech yeah I honestly so let's not about BCU's stunning win over topsy BK you. -- pundits like you would not bought. This team was not -- worthy of being in the field the 68 but now after five consecutive wins no doubt -- -- I without a doubt I mean you have to give credit where credit's due. And I think historically shot smart that's the guy really is kind of played into the strength of this team by his great guy Joey Rodriguez is doing a great job that's his -- general. Mean look at the shooting percent from Philly it's a three point shooting percentage. That is giving the job done spacing of the defense is out is how they're breaking people Clark. And kids -- could not keep up with without having. Read the -- brother's thirty feet from the basket. Toward Kansas apart style more about three point shooting because as that's that reflected BC was dialed an -- Ten more threes and K you'll know it seemed like he had just couldn't buy a bucket in this game yet and it goes down that you're playing lose or playing tight Kansas they had everything in the world to lose and they lost it they played tight and they lost that. And remember this is the same Kansas team that he's done this. Year after year losing to put up now. Losing to again we mentioned it last week -- for -- the match last year -- -- you're you know exactly so this is -- Kansas team that has shown that -- can't wait I. So -- self. What are you doing for next year how can you give these guys how you get such outstanding talent to relax and do what Shaka smart -- I mean these guys are playing with a chip on their shoulder. And they're playing as loose as anybody in the country do you think psychology was -- -- because these I didn't lose Bucknell the same time they look tight and they struggled getting -- from the lot I think it is a factor and this is what people don't understand I -- shooting the basketball is the most mental thing you can do and Kansas just seemed to be so stiff every shot they're pulling it back I mean they didn't feel that nothing was shot with confidence even at the. -- divorce but the point every shot and there was no confidence in their shot and you saw no way. Blown layups there really any easy opportunities at the basket were blown and it shows -- -- they really were all we can't just pull within two points most of us. -- all the way back in the win this game however how big was production from Jamie skeen. The transfer from Wake Forest especially going up against the more twins in the paint well I mean you talk about Jamie -- in the paint a really where he made his money his bread and butter. Was 25 feet out. I guess they said -- Meant to say bread and -- His bread and butter was twenty if you keep Baltimore's twins twenty feet from the basket scoring from the three was so -- for him. Finally got ten rebounds where the Morrissey is -- On the rebound I mean this guy had I think it was three offensive rebounds as well that's not up when there but that guy's gotten it done I mean this simple -- the 5050 plays he was Kitna. You know they're driving kicks he's knocking it down so that play games he was huge OK let's move on there was another stellar game on Sunday between North Carolina Kentucky. This one went down -- the final minute the referees got involved again yeah I you know I hate to give on the referees but. There's no call at the end of the game an easy call I mean they're down by four North Carolina is down by four. All American coming into the season Harrison Barnes goes up pump -- gets a guy in the -- gets back out. He should be on the line -- three and they don't give it to them it's one of those things where I just wanna see the calls made right. I -- -- the correct calls me even if it's at the end of the game. The referees obviously at that point or not dictating the outcome but you have to make the right calls in that sense. A fashion the call right undeniable. Big picture Kentucky lost so much talent to the NBA draft Pletcher what four guys in the first round that was just -- How does this team come together make -- forefront of the final four since 1998. You know I. You we can't give enough credit to John cal part this is a guy a year in and year round is getting the job done. He sought in Memphis now we see that Kentucky and the type of truth and this Kentucky team and is the Big Three are as I would call. Which -- land you know Terrence Jones and of course Brandon Knight. I think they're better than the guys they had last year and that's that's that's a huge -- that's a huge statement considering John Wall DeMarcus Cousins. -- -- so who's now playing with the Clippers I mean. This is are these are really those are high in NBA players and I think this team has little more cohesiveness. And it's -- a little more drive I think they'd listened to coach more than Mateen did last year I think you're seeing. Calipari is coaching style come out and really excel in this NCA tournament lets -- one -- in North Carolina this could have been the final college game for Harrison Barnes could be one and done guy. Undeniable he's got a pro game how well you think you skill set don't translate to next -- why I think he's a pro when it comes down to that prototypical size. And strength and mean he's six foot 76 foot eight swing man. He shot the ball very well throughout the course and -- especially towards the end of the season obviously look at it -- graphic to a ninth today not gonna get it done. But what I saw from him with streaks of greatness. And it's something you wanna see more of can -- that consistency and I think we saw from guys like John ball. John -- the kind of consistently played at a high level. And that's what made him so good so Harrison Barnes Z you know he is streaky at times but it was streaks of greatness and I think that'll make him a top five pick without doubt. All right now let's check in with foxsports.com. Senior basketball writer Jeff Goodman Jeff. They'll be no number one seeds in the final four this year the first time that's happened is the field expanded in 1985 something tells me a very smart. Now Ohio State and Kansas are -- on your list of the biggest disappointments. Yeah no question Brian I mean. You've got to Ohio State losing to Kentucky I can't just was the big one dropping -- -- -- Eugene that is on a roll right now and everybody kind of take BJ -- We at Ohio State and you've got a field and pitch -- They -- the final number one everybody thought Candace she's probably gonna go to the final four improbably all the way. And you know -- has been that team to really figure out this year. Ever since Josh Selby got back I really think the chemistry in the been much worse and two outs down second straight year there there Hebert. To go to -- -- and don't get there. Ohio's but he. You know lose to -- Kentucky team. William Buford did not have a -- so the Buckeyes. Don't go to the final four. The good news for them -- soldier freshman. That he'll be back and I do trust him. And Duke certainly do carrier ring comes back into taking. But they can't beat an Arizona team that went by Derrick Williams. In the first out but that the blue doubles also would -- -- trot carrier ring. I'll sing they -- while also remember once see all all lots. And -- Pittsburgh. Now there's no number ones who left. All right thanks Jeff we'll check back with you later the Cinderella stories of Butler DCU dominated conversation with the other national semi final features two. Marquee programs you've got to dog that he lets start with the Huskies. Undeniable Leon -- your job play stellar basketball since the big east -- nine wins in nineteen days anybody close to being that. I mean there's three other teams that are playing a high level basketball but not as hot as UConn. And I think you -- got to figured out like who work or play tournament style basketball. And whatever Jim Calhoun has done I don't know if it's a pregame talk war preparation they have this tournament style one and done style basketball figure out. And I Campbell walker at the Helm I mean they're tough can be okay every once thought about kept and he deserves those accolades but I gotta. Chance to watch you -- now I'm here in Southern California I don't think they'd be moving up to the final four without the play of freshman. Jeremy Leno or without a doubt they wouldn't and what that does is it just kind of it limits what Canada has to do. And when I see limited doesn't mean hey you know he he should be doing less it just takes a lot of pressure off -- -- walker this is Kevin Walker who's gonna play. Forty minutes a game and really have a guy like this that can space the floor. Open up some driving lanes and it's gonna lead to easy buckets but everybody -- -- walk -- -- -- And without having that guy like Jeremy -- from Atlanta to space for defense. Knock down shots confidently play on offense. It's -- this could be very difficult for Campbell walker play forty minutes of basketball. It gets a really good Kentucky so you've got to get is set to take on Kentucky in the final four what's the key in this game -- what kind of style do you anticipate. Well this style I'll start the style a style that these are two very evenly matched teams athletic long. I think the biggest difference will be Josh Harrelson down low and any. That's one of the keys for UConn is giving him away from the basket you have to find a way to bring the big guy away from the basket you've got a guy like Alex Soriano -- -- down -- who can space on the short short quarter ala Charles Oakley did that jumps at you gotta hit the big guy away from the basket. Campbell walker obviously. He's the key to everything. He's the heated easy -- everything they do on offense and the gift to find a way to keep him protected on defense I mean look at Brandon Knight and who's gonna cover Brandon Knight while obviously. -- is gonna have to match up. You have to find a way if you're Jim Calhoun to protect him on defense. Keep him out of foul trouble is -- it's a very aggressive offensively keep them out of foul trouble. And just just limit the amount of attention he's gonna get. When she went to -- because you need and want off its OK now let's focus on Kentucky in detail you mentioned Brandon Knight. He has not played like a freshman in this NCAA tournament let's -- dug up -- -- result -- forty cap hit or Carmelo Anthony -- Lights out for his first run in the NCAA tournament you know very impressed with what this -- doing especially considering the start yet member depressing game one they want. He's only bucket was the game winner but put that shot right there showed me a lot about Brandon Knight is a guy who wins that game could easily checked out. But he's found his way for one bucket opening round to just take over thirty some points the next games. I'm really just controlling the tempo and this is the kind of guy I mean. It is so much said about John Wall Derrick Rose and those are Calipari guys to tell you the truth. This is the kinda guy I think John Calipari likes more than anybody because he's a leader. I mean he's not just the score he is he controls the tempo controls the mindset. It's as easy looks and if we talk about keys for Kentucky it's going to be Brandon -- creating for everybody else if he can create early. Get to run lamb who's the leading three point shooting -- with percentage in the SEC you can get him going some easy shots early. I think Kentucky -- we talk so much about the young talent on this team let's not forget the big -- you had -- two Josh Harrelson to senior he's been solid this -- that he's become kind of like that I Kendrick Perkins you know Kendrick Perkins is. The quote enforcer. Well Josh Harrelson senior leader out here. You know they give they give Matt Howard. Think of what he's able to do just with -- energy and effort this -- been the same things become like I said yeah fortunately Kentucky which. Is not really known to get physical team and you look at the young talent you know the the Terrence Jones the -- on the outside and Brandon Knight. We forget about these these kind of the the blue collar workers down low and that's what Josh Harrelson Stewart so. He's got to be happy with his productivity John Calipari want the best coaches in all of college basketball but does he need to finally win a national title to solidify the I would hate to say he does. But I think it wouldn't hurt. You know as he's one of those guys where it's almost like there's an asterisk next to everything he does it vacated when I was certainly had an -- it's like guys on steroids -- is that after. And it kind of takes away from all his accomplishments but I think. This team this year shows you what kind of coach -- part of the he gets high level players McDonald's all Americans or better to play. Did you admit basketball these guys learn the defense can drive kicked and they become very successful throws and I think it goes to show what -- -- -- -- made up. Okay let's welcome back Jeff Goodman -- going to be Houston covering the final four for us. Who's the player you're most excited to watch in person. Well I I think when you start in in a much right gorgeous one player -- Campbell walker to me is the most exciting guy I've seen him play forever. He's electrifying he's fun to watch. I'll always smile and played well into the court. That's one guy and I'll give you one more just just I can't -- Roddick -- our -- -- opposite Campbell walker. No slouch no sizzle it looks like he should be doubtful YMCA. Hair flopping all over the place not out or -- Which is find a way to get it done for Butler he's been reached and achieved a mainstay. Out why Brad Cuban descent so much success and she took over. Four years ago and not Matt Howard plays as hard as anybody in the country. A pleasure to watch. But it didn't not to I want you like him walk. I Jeff thanks very much job once again in -- made to have a chance to play for the national championship butler's back in the final four after series a close victories. Four wins coming by totaled thirteen points houses -- focus and get it done -- well. I think they're used to playing close games and you've got to give a lot of credit to Brad Stevens this is a guy who doesn't seem to waver and we say poise poise poise. And Shaka smart Brad Stevens or two guys that all the poise in the world. Close game or not they state even keel and I think that translates. To the players that you see on the floor and these guys have no problem playing in a close game and music. There's not much expectation this year for Butler -- really hasn't been you know the funny thing was coming into the C edited the NCA tournament this year they said Butler could be issues Butler. And really not -- but. It's true we didn't expect this from Butler as we saw what they did last year they -- loss Gordon Hayward and -- them big time player an NBA lottery pick so. We didn't expect this from them this year but he seemed to do this team being every year and -- right back in the mix. And he got to give a lot of credit to Brad Stevens and just like last year and again a -- would deacon makes him as a primary enough to take away the three ball from BC yeah. You know it's funny because if TCU was like a North Carolina Kentucky I'd be a little more concern. Because of the depth usually teams like Kentucky North Carolina -- they have little more depth. But believe me you're looking at 606 or 505 on five or six a six game. These are two teams that don't have a deep bench so. Who's gonna get worn out first I think they can pick up the pressure I think Brad Stevens. He watched that game by himself in the locker room -- in his office he watched that game. You that. They're always gonna force TCU and the tougher three point shots at least contested three point shots. With the rotation. Rebound recover I mean these are all things. As simple as that sounds and basic man to man principles that's what Brad Stevens can be -- like the answer to Richard grease board. For the final angle like Florida all over illustrator you talked about experience how much of that help and it's an obvious question here that. Butler almost won it all year ago they got guys like Matt Howard who were. This close to -- his national time you know it it does helping you see that through this there's close games. They they have nothing to lose that that's that's key NBC use the same way. But Butler has a couple guys -- Mack Matt Howard who have been negative experience that they've been at the top they felt what it feels like to lose. In the national championship game and that's something that we go to Butler I don't think you ever expects I don't think you go to Butler built. We're gonna play for a national championship but I don't think you -- you even consider that so they understand where they'd been they know where they would like to go. I think there's just play like they've got nothing to lose and that's key. And Matt Howard's a guy he's one of those guys Mark Madsen you know white guy and not just visited. The stature in the floppy hair and and the fundamentals yeah if it's not just say it's effective. He's gonna do what ever it takes blood sweat and tears to win. And any coaches any coach's dream and anybody who plays against -- it's at the same time though VCU it equally compelling story winning five games to go from the first war. Final four point guard Julie Rodriguez makes this team go what makes him so well what makes him so fact. This is just his fourth and talked about it shop smart Brad Stevens Mississippi dominates the. Tempo of the game he's never heard he very rarely turns the ball over and when he does it doesn't bother. And you see we saw what Kansas they turn the ball over and they got really frustrated. They got really down you saw a body language chart to go this kid joy Rodriguez it didn't bother him one -- two turnovers in a row. And he didn't -- it didn't bother him one bit and he really is shock a smart or in the court. So for VCU playing with that that quick note for. Proverbial chip on their shoulder they need to keep that and having Joe Rodriguez on the floor just kind of maintain that sense of control. That's cute -- let's talk about the coaching coaching stars can be christened in the NCAA tournament think way back to Rick Pitino then Providence the final 41980s. -- a smart has this team believing they can beat any right yes absolutely and and I would say if you're Shaka smart -- try to tell these guys. Don't forget about what it felt like. To have to play five games to get to the final four because really. The big and that's all the ACC I mean. -- shot is not a smart can do is say don't forget where we came from and it's so cliche. But keep that chip on your shall play with a chip when you play like you've got nothing to lose and because that's what's making them so good they take shots that Kansas was scared -- And that's why they want finally how do you think this game is going to play out Houston yet. Don't ask me prediction on Marcus well I -- know I've had to do these predictions every weekend and you know because -- on tape I can admit that I've been wrong -- no lie about it this is a game that made between Butler. And BCU we gonna see two teams very evenly match and it's gonna come down to. Turnovers and effort. Both teams are gonna play very good defense they're gonna put forth all the effort the world because they've got nothing to lose at this point they've they've come about as far as any of those guys could've dreamed up. So really it's gonna come down to The Who puts out and who wears down who's got more effort left in the tank. And who keeps control the ball is if you turn the ball over in the final four stages and of this game. Yeah I mean you're gonna lose it without a doubt you're gonna lose rights of result. We appreciate the insight that it was this edition of hoops hysteria we'll be back next week to break down the final four. Ford got president Jeff -- I'm Ryan -- and enjoy the games in Houston everybody. This clip was brought to you by muscle now gets powerful pro team drink -- ball.
