John -- and here with Gary reasons and Wendell -- house is we look back at week one. And the nation's number one ranked team the Oklahoma Sooners looked strong and pretty much every phase of the game against Tulsa. Wendell any surprises in your first look at the 2011 sooners well you know one thing about -- Stoops He doesn't blow smoke He says what He means He means what He says -- back in the spring He was raving about some running back Dominic -- And a lot of people our role Verizon figure out right you've got five or six running backs -- on scholarship well. Whaley started his career Langston university and transferred -- he's a junior walk -- So what did you do in the open He rushed for four touchdowns and 131 yards and you know it appears that Whaley is gonna get old either running between the tackles option it is a perfect fit in this office. You know and it got awful quarterback obviously great wide receivers -- got a -- lately to pound the ball between the tackles are really going to be strong. Bobby got to put this guy around scholarship c'mon if. While that you probably might get a scholarship after that performance of four touchdowns is pretty impressive as -- -- he's a good good addition to the sooners are no doubt about that it. Teasing guys about 205 pounds he's not -- -- -- that they've had in the past he's not as big as an Adrian Peterson he's got good body -- like how I run the football on north and south. And I think it's a mobster like with the likes about it I think the Landry Jones played exceptionally well this first football game -- -- like He did last year I think he's really gonna set himself up. For a great season if you don't you've got to gathered you can throw the ball to him without Ryan -- it's also great for the defense they came on strong throw -- this. This football in this football game they actually had. Pretty good for sacks in the ball game a couple fumble recoveries and one interception so planes take away defensively that's good and we can distribute the football. For guys like -- Ron Wolf and obviously Oklahoma can have a chance to win just about any football game the -- -- life. They've got the tools out there to do it you know the wrong ranked number one for a reason the sooners are stacked I think they're gonna get ready for for the state team. Probably a little bit different that what we've seen the past they just don't -- they're going to afford. -- He had everybody's gonna look forward to watch him now when two guys -- thought about that Oklahoma defense they had the tragic loss of Boston box during the offseason and of course they're gonna sort of share his number for different guys each week just the emotion that you saw out of that defensive unit of football players Wendell and then Gary you can weigh in doing just how emotion will play into this thing after losing Austin box teammate friend. -- it's a sad story but it's also uplifting top toward the middle linebacker junior He wore number twelve He was in tears after the game talking about how He felt. Up lifted by wearing that Jersey remembering his fallen teammate. And I think this is something Oklahoma has a lot of incentive this year but knowing that they're playing for somebody like that. And you know Oklahoma's a lot of tragedies review LeRoy Salman recently passed away they had some other people involved with the program that a guy recently. So I think the Oklahoma players are going through this season understanding. Which is a little bit more to life than just football but I think this is gonna keep him grounded all year. And I think playing in boxes memory is really going to be something that is gonna keep this team focused all season. Police say one word they're the last and it's and it's team and that's what Bob Stoops preaches this team is not about any individual. Don't box you know his departure obviously very tragic for the football team but collectively bringing his number back into the team. This season to remember him I think you know released. Epitomizes team for the center so obviously team is important to them I'm I'm glad they're doing this for Austin and his family He will be remembered as greats there. All right guys real quickly wanna get to tell us what trouble you about week -- most are you dare do anything troubling after ten and all week -- big twelve teams -- -- sick and Missouri would be in the top three to fourteen in the conference but you know what I'm not totally sold -- on James Franklin -- quarterback I think mystery may have a quarterback -- They're not playing great football team so it's in Missouri you kind of on the edge of whether or not they're going to be able to get to those those wins they like to get. Frank it's got to improve any -- it's beyond these young quarterback. I think it's just a little bit early to tell that a how do one thing that I'll be concerned about the Missouri move forward as a quarterback. Plug Gary again I wasn't really troll by anything in the big twelve away it's. The thing is not the ten big twelve teams are going Cory BC -- -- -- -- but to say that about teams like -- we know about organ how many uniform combinations they have. Georgia totally trashed their traditional uniforms in their opener and the Maryland Miami game Monday night. I have to put these on to watch the game. They were so crazy and loud it's that you we got to stop this somebody's got to put a stop that uniform stuff right now. That's a good -- felt like a lot like a penetrator inside guys will look forward to do it again next -- big twelve showcase after week to do.
