The kids. It was -- it was not funny. Saves and -- televised to fox sports north dot com will losing UC right now because Ron coomer since studio. Now we always enjoy that Joseph Nelson Peter Anderson Paul church -- Taylor -- on camera -- day Coleman's back thereof. As the associate producer and I'm Paul -- mr. -- joins us now. Good morning mr. coomer and happy fourth of July weekend viewing your family and thank you very much convenient here it's it's a fun weekend big payback maybe it's got to be big pay back these Brewers man when we went there we missed Greinke we missed Marcum. But we caught Jarno. We -- this Chris Narveson thing we're gonna see that lefty again walks about three and after game. But we made him look a little better Sunday than then -- then they probably needed to. There are so many story lines off this weekend outside of the obvious things we've been talking about for months. How we can get back in the rays are we gonna be buyers and sellers wins Michigan started wild about Georgia initiative -- to Rochester and he's taking ground balls. Comment all the stuff we talk about a Philly dot com did the Brinker. The bottom line up has set up the Brewers Qatar -- that and now they're in town their fifteen and 27 on the road this is the big big back like James Brown says. It feels good I knew that it could now feel I got to make me happy it's also. Yeah I I like our chances playing now only. It was a good series 22. They two on three from LA they're good ballclub they've got their own issues. I got some friends in LA and it was very entertaining to hear of some of them guys talk about their stories -- and I -- ours. So that's spoke -- let's get -- Rick Monday -- arm above me ask you a question about the owner who has made my. Rick Monday in Arizona while I favor. I had a cub he hit a home run against the Montreal Expos play in Montreal and he went up 63 it was her -- 63 that I will never forget as long as I -- -- -- in -- time. Freezing cold in Montreal the only run scored. Extremely -- troubling the -- -- many. Nine now Olympic Stadium it -- I think maybe I thought that was dome and we had the little point Dallas back. After that until that happened there so yeah I didn't watch nationals baseball. I -- Why is the only one Watson. I don't quite a bit like 98 I was like -- because but. You -- lots. You know pretty wanted -- -- and you big retirement have been be good we can you think the Brewers are -- despite being in the NL that they -- rival of the twins now. I really don't I don't you don't seem enough fright when will we -- intentionally -- LA I know our stations trying to -- -- citizens but. Never thought they are right coming up next. -- actually I was only here to ask her out. The and a little morass Jerry Augustine but fox sports and and our doubt but I only -- beyond that I I've. Never thought of the Brewers is a big rival for us if you look at. Vikings Green Bay okay you look at Bears Green Bay and you know that Chicago teams in New York teams now I don't look at the brew crew has being our big rival now. You know but that's our that's OK it's it's close and -- to be a lot of brewer fans here so that part is. Cool when the Brewers had had Molitor in the Al in Boca bitch and all those bits and they're in the American League. Was more of a rivalry then I would think so yeah I would say so I didn't live near them but you can see where. When you're playing in the division and your playing each other in there and do you know yet. Close proximity but. Right now I don't see that as much use. Maybe you know and he sentence and -- I mean to be a big series of big series from both groups out. It's a huge series for us we need to get back on track and out and keep this ball rolling. Or also is our boy a year guy the LE Neal the third set early buyers or sellers today. That is the lead story in the star Tribune all right -- -- to -- all -- thing you have to be crazy to think the twins are buyers. I think it borderline delusional unfortunately. If we're there right now you're asking a lot of a team that's just struggling to not be in last place behind Kansas City is due to be buyers right now especially glad -- but he disrespecting the longevity of Major League is especially when you have as many issues as the twins do. Run to be buyers your fire when you have one or two holes to fill to go make your run of the playoffs. And you're eleven and a half games back is your does your does your pointing out to me right now. They are a half games back half an halfback and a exit. Okay that's a margin you can make up when I actually agree could make upping and the interleague -- this past month. It hit it can be done in -- you know you need to have a great tennis right that's for June but what this. The teams that are true actually buyers have got one or two holes that they need to plug to make their championship is. Or play effort this -- holes to fill right now like wide. I allowed just I really -- OK not not starting pitching but middle relief for me Glen Perkins went right in the middle you know bullpen could use help -- I have more. -- a relief guy. He's -- remains that a guy is set up guy is the left and I'm just like I've got tiger bullpen in general well gable and I don't like I'm willing to company are going to need out there too. Have they wanted to wonder -- it okay now we got we got one okay we can find Chad Qualls next -- -- second base. -- nonfarm light on him on the -- are going right now that's fine but what. You're gonna move him to short because -- she's not working out -- short but not me he can't you can't. Think my glasses on this on the crazy now. -- -- back nine million dollars its not like guys in and cameramen -- break it was only seen him play like they pull me. Despite nineteen games right now you're stymied Jerebko so here's my -- me except. Your book if we don't in nineteen games with Tsuyoshi. -- he's 88. Contact hitter. Who's batting 197. Yeah he's 84 time gold Glover in Japan whose defense -- brutal out I don't you don't ask -- where there are holes on this team. Shortstop hole. -- -- don't -- and Anders Ohman an immediate it hasn't played well at all and I think that's self inflicted pressure to be quite honest with TO not that good a player. Somewhere else with high levels of competition we have an angry that. Japan baseball is how high level of competition whether it's the big leagues cannot historical level every capsule. To me you're looking at a guy who. Got broke within the first week you come in here literally literally now he's putting a lot of pressure on himself because he wants to succeed here. He's not making routine plays he's not hitting the ball. Pull off the balls we talked the last time I was here those are all things because he's trying to do too much and it's TK years ago we used to have this teacher and I know guardians announced. Office wall mouth to Superman buster and don't try to be Superman right and I think right now and misses I could be wrong. We rarely but could be on -- I I think he's trying to be Superman and do too much once he gets into the flow of big league baseball. I think you're gonna see good ball. I can't watch him hit without thinking about you because he does the bit every time does so all the -- thing every time. You should describe -- -- it was just a week ago there's a lot of people didn't hear it last week is I think you're dead on value analyzed his swing I think it's I think it Bears repeating. And I was close to the field. Twins side of the field. -- when he batted in the middle game against the Dodgers -- me not get the not just the TV. It -- angle I was behind him. And he starts to fall away almost when the guy is completing his motion it's great. You when you hit you have to stay staff. And so that means your shoulder your hips everything's got to stay upright and staff and once you start to swinging you start going to the baseball. Why let me she's doing -- he's fading towards the first base dugout. And you can't stay on a pitch that's the outer third especially one that's moving away from -- a righty. You know with a two -- moving away from him more left in a breaking ball. When -- but is going toward the first base dugout your front shoulder is going towards first base dugout all of a sudden all your fate no way you can't. You know the best ball Q yeah does that little ground ball may be in the hole you might flip over the third baseman. That's only got so. To me he's got to stay in there longer. To be able to put the ball -- play with any authority. And I just think now seems they're just pounding him there just throw him away. There and keep the normal way you might throw one ball like we talked about and -- and and then he's no longer are modest just to get a little effect fiction now that he's done for the. Rogge speaking of the 150 I had Bert Blyleven and the day after that and I'm glad I lessons -- -- no offense off I think it's an interesting talker in that you know I disagree if you played the game in the unwritten rules probably mean more to use them they do remain hopeful. For instance. It's somebody opens up 78 or nine on -- and they're not the White Sox the Tigers this is a freaking broke National League team. Where you're struggling they're getting hit after hit they're not bunting at the wrong time they're not stealing not showing you up. They're playing the game. There's absolutely no reason for anybody to -- a member of the Dodgers now. That did a while personal do you agree with that yeah. Fight itself look at what about. About not rushing him back a couple times come and inside make it go so if you brushing back in it so happens that. I don't yeah. AP OK okay -- of them for the -- that dog winners it's not like AJ just went to Alabama twirl and flipped because he had a home run up 150. They hit a lot of balls that didn't find our players that could have been all series I'm with you there. They and they didn't do anything did him you know anything wrong against well. Rule out a book of baseball they didn't and they're depressed enough and I can get paid. -- -- get the broke to -- all they're gonna get our family there's a lot of money out there in LA it's just not McCourt pocket just got a guy if they got to find area daddies and reports that the owners pocketed 100 million dollars out of the Chinese had this team that's that's absurd it's a bill. Right that be built. Yeah and and what you're leaving your your leading your team broke so that he can hundred million I get Utley in a tough and I form any as I really does -- mean I think at this point he's a lost any. -- -- -- yeah -- I I have no problem Major League Baseball saying refining in -- and I hit an eight you know like he's the owner of company you can take profits when you're the -- of -- company. But not to the point you leave you leave your baseball team broke. While -- -- calling the TV station to try to now. Three redo the contract -- can get cash and a payroll. But did you see some of their payroll number just talk about a team that's I heard Vin Scully ads -- pay was made available from a lot of time out there today avid they owe him a 150000 dollars -- are you kidding me I'm 57 -- thing. But they still Manny thirteen -- why exactly did they never gonna see that money. Now they'll get it now they'll get any baseball I'll incorporate -- -- a couple of bad a good player for the Dodgers -- the quiet now but it doesn't go east of the Rockies anymore not I don't know believes that that they might not even Hollywood Hills and the -- upset because I stripped. Now but. -- get to the Dodgers. I you know this this team so vulnerable right now on so many levels don't chapter called my team and try to get a high priced player -- make a trade. They're homer balding they probably wanna give up high priced players who were good sure we have tons of money they have not. I. Someone I agree when you look at the Dodgers as a group and not say they're they're staff. You've got maybe one of the most experienced staffs in baseball and our players go. You've got some quality some quality players -- You know they've got some guys that are sprinkled around -- field -- play a little -- if -- aren't the theory. He. -- -- that was dangerous right there. So they've got some guys are complaining in this year obviously is going to be a -- for them but. You look at a year or two down and you got Donnie baseball -- managing your guy got my guy again of that he got a bunch of guys that can really coach in. In understand the game I wouldn't be surprised. If you take out a Mark Cuban or someone and inject him into the -- all of a sudden now you're back to the old Dodgers. Ron coomer and studio fan televised live in fox sports mark dot com Paul church in represents league's state dot com cohost of Friday fastball feast week. Art which have talked about the twins -- may -- make a case stemming buyers apparently you've you know you still think there's something to be there forever the buyers for the twins this might I think it says here and a paper makes some sense I think the next two weeks now. You gotta give yourself a week at the deadline. To make some moves but I think these next couple weeks will. Played so far yet they got seventeen of the next when he won at home -- 35 at home in July and August. The four road games in that seventeen of 21 a -- the White Sox yeah and you play very well against them traditionally. So there you know might might take all along has been beat 405 away at the all star break. Three year forward guard preferably to September 1. -- little off that schedule right now that they can get better. So -- let's say by the say in the next three weeks is the first today in the next three weeks you're gonna know if you stay status -- on your behalf mind games now. I'm with him if he jumped to five or six. I got that. Yeah we gotta be careful with this though from a determine organizational standpoint. Not from bad stamp -- we don't but from a twins' standpoint I mean were happy that you bought tickets we were right you like the prime rib in the champions club. And we know -- those who visited -- expensive you know the hot Turkey sandwich that's that's the best thing in stating what we're trading Michael Dyer may be the most. So that I was just gonna say dire Kubel got you know guys are headed to free agency do you do you want to risk exposing them to another club house. If your goals to resigning one or both of them. I don't think floor either rule specifically of those two guys because of the character level how just the people they are yeah. If you send them all. You're gonna have a great shot at bringing them right back thanks I really do believe so round the last. The connecting a play your -- -- risk enamored of this isn't a guarantee staff but it's a risky and it was just Philly. They're filled out a Michael -- goes to Philly and you look at that rotation -- We're gonna win here for a long time exactly the other thing about Philly that's scary for a can -- to go there if you want him back. Charlie Manuel is an old school guy -- love him he's hitting coach. He's -- you go out buying the baseball and it's lot of freedom for the offensive players yeah. That's something I'm not saying we don't have that here but the year hitting and a great hitters ballpark there's a lot of pluses in Philly that could cool guy. To staying there and they need to right field. Including including a World Series run nor front and media -- galvanize a team year after year well and -- -- -- is I don't have stats in front -- me the topic they had I think he's a pretty good proven post season in -- he's out -- I think -- number -- lifetime -- policy and the good across the -- bit with the slugging percentage in the UPS in the UOPP in the eBay and all that button exist they're they're favored to win I'd make him favored to win the World Series right now. This freaking -- wait I mean as -- -- breaking news here now but he he was kind of sketchy in and out a little bad you know he looks a box where to go really -- late. Five and oh in June earned run average zero point 21 final spot. Any if you look at it as up as a hitter. He's really good thing they've got four guys that are really now now you're looking animal for sixteen with a four in the series going in there. Let's continue the conversation was Ron -- from fox sports north -- and preview the twins in the Milwaukee Brewers also share some interest in numbers with Scott Baker and get dubbed mr. -- opinion. -- Frankie fastball Francisco Liriano he gets the start tonight Willie B. Francisco fantastic go. Or Frankie freak out. We'll learn when we return. Japan whose defense -- brutal. I don't they ask you where there are holes on this team. Shortstop hole but don't feel honored and Anders Ohman an immediate it hasn't played well at all and I think that's self inflicted pressure. To be quite honest with TO not that good a player. Somewhere else with high levels of competition we have to agree that. Japan baseball is how high level of competition whether it's the big leagues cannot sit still level every capsule. We rarely but could be on the I I think he's trying to be Superman and do too much. Once he gets into the flow of big league baseball. I think you can see the ball I can't watch him without thinking about you because he does the -- every time does not always think every time. You should describe -- -- it was just a week ago there's a lot of people didn't hear it last week is I think you're dead on value analyzed his swing I think it's I think it Bears repeating. Yeah. -- itself look at what about about not rushing him back a couple of times come and inside making him go so if you brushing back in it so happens that yeah. I don't think about it being you know hey the name of them for the -- -- toddlers. It's not like AJ just went to a balance Worrell and flipped because he had a home run up 150. They hit a lot of balls that didn't find our players that could have been out series I'm with you there. They and they didn't do anything did Tim you know anything wrong against well rule out the book of baseball agent and they're depressed enough and I can get paid. But the evening game tonight shortly after a 7 o'clock 630 for a twins -- -- to convert Burton did call the game shortly. After -- 7 o'clock Francisco Liriano. Last time we saw in Milwaukee was bludgeoning him what dumb how does how does one get that out of their mind -- their pitcher I mean. San Diego. He could've been better I think we came back and won that game on that Sunday. In dramatic fashion but he wasn't you know he tailed off a little -- then. And -- out nice job -- out Vinny fell off the map last game -- return from. I think for some guy base. It could be very bad and they may not. Be able to and then come back from frank he's a guy that when he has good stuff he can beat anybody being as good as anybody in baseball. So to me. Knowing him it wouldn't surprise me off he really pitched a good ballgame tonight got a little like you said his starters. Are -- that. So mechanically horror velocity wise or you don't notice any. In different -- in his mechanics get out of -- in any doesn't throw enough strikes and when he does throw strikes the right down the middle the big key tonight when you watch a ball game. Like we said the last Brewers series we talked and I we were on right before now that's seriously guy keeping guys off base camp. In front of the two bumpers we didn't. We get crushed them. Just that simple pitch to fielder turned out to be this big ordeal. He can't do that. To me with Frankie if you watch him early in a ball game today any strike one strike two innings mixing in some off speed pitches early in the count. For strikes he's going to be devastating presenting hitters have to go out of the zone and they chase a slider that's when you watch for tonight -- -- did they can. A lot of the popular thinking of liriano is if he'd -- tends to unravel things don't go his way in that -- get into his had a little bit if the you know if the strikes aren't happening any -- behind gives up some runs early. Are you do you abort that thinking is as people evaluate him. I don't think other teams get -- and I think he gets in his own way to be quite as he starts overthrow the baseball he tries throw harder. Instead of backing off and throwing more strikes. You know and that's part of being young player not understanding. Sometimes by throw softer it's better yet thank -- start to figure that out was changeup a little -- he's having some success -- it. Young pitchers the worst they do the harder they throw. Don't get ticked off and I can throw through a wall and I think he's had that issue where I think hopefully now as he's learning that. He's got great stuff if he backs off might be better. This is a little bit like good deal golf swing right where you know you try to be -- hard you try to swing it all the worse the results are a lot of times and sometimes it's just he shored up -- -- and -- you don't have to you know you don't have to eat at the ball that hard to. Having do we want. I don't like that isn't Francisco in about eight a young player at this point. Shouldn't he be you don't worry is five years in -- at this point who -- -- really be talking about. A guy who who isn't hasn't that kind of mindset usually tribute to first or second year starter. Yeah maybe naive got a point there's no doubt about that put his mechanical side of it is always frenzy non. Being acceptable. And then when he gets a little fired up not I know I played long time and there are times where. I get that one undated John Boehner and I wanted to hit out of the state -- I get on message later as I think. You know one thing at least we can never account for. In pro sports is the emotion. It's easy to sit here and I do it on our -- pregame post game. But it's tough to. To understand the emotional how guys feel when things aren't going right now we've all seen how many times it especially in the NFL on. Something I remember a few years ago Allen got -- at the knees and he. Hobbling after we got economy as a dirty playing because they're Cherilus down and I sit there in our seats -- -- a cot I hope his -- -- Europe this guy's face off it's just that emotion of the team cap is something you can't. Account for when you're sitting watching and I think Frankie has some of that and. I think fans of baseball fans especially tend to discount it more because of the 162. And you know -- you know and it because it doesn't have the of the singular intensity of. NF you know -- importance of that here I'll get no doubt but as Scott Baker become a more reliable strike out pitchers and Francisco Liriano or was -- in the first place because. Over Baker's last four at home man. He's gone thirty plus one earned run 32 strikeouts to walks sixteen to one strikeout to walk ratio. That makes -- the best strikeout pitcher on the staff I almost don't care who's on the staff. When you look at what Scott Baker brings to the table as far as. What his style often and when he talks about stuff he's thrown in 9394 miles an hour he's got a good break tomorrow and good changeup. In at times he can really locate so if he's locating his fastball down in the zone and get them some off speed pitch over early in the count. You see all of his strikeouts come late McConnell when he elevates his fastball -- now he's change and I levels that's tough for a hitter to adapt to innings got enough on a fastball to us. -- -- -- -- fox sports north in studio Paul church in early exit dot com we had Michael can -- on last week we talked him about potentially being the all star representative of this team. Funny thing is is either right guy in your mind to it to be the one that ends of being selected only reason we voted in or is it Scott -- -- somebody else or not thinking about. I I have a look at pitchers close enough to it basically you can make a point for break he can I make point for a couple pitchers. Capps is a guy -- make point four. Most Major League most managers of the all star game. Like to take as many closers as they can iron and I got to make sense that does solely to come and warm up quick dinner and blow him away and. -- -- victor he it's not bad to say we kind of don't have an all star this year I mean it's not where it's not like for a rare occurrence. You know we are Washington and Pittsburgh. Is another teams are looking and just aren't really the twins get an all star we did nobody that really stands out that was not a -- -- -- -- you are my body now with this Friday they're gonna IKI mean he's he's not all the injuries that we've we've got a lot of injuries. I really for Michael. I really hope it's him and because he's had years where he definitely could have been an all star you're playing behind mauer now. In their bowl MVPs and all -- he likes me and -- Refresh my memory and how it works for The Who chooses the the representatives for for the teams that don't get a ballot and is it the is that the managers that the -- make that makes that call. Yeah and off that it's interesting you would say that I was thinking about this yesterday. Then how come out. Veep position players are voted in via the popularity contest your former teammate Derek Jeter eleven -- it's all star game. I'd rather go see Derek -- the -- -- Cabrera on whether Cabrera is hitting 315 yeah 200 I'd still rather watch Jeter over -- -- But dumb. Can you say and I mean that I can't do it all that that's his name I don't hi Mike and even talk about the Detroit Tigers starter for -- and and Seattle Mariners pitcher Doug Fister. It's all in blame man's name is not a couple of games calmer I get Tom yet but how helmets I welcome the position players are voted in but the pitchers aren't. Why why is that fair it's it's tough for her now nobody -- baseball -- there -- crowded into what are they all just like. -- it does make sense to maybe give the fans a chance to pick the starting pitcher but the a lot of the pitching side of it is determined by the guy pitched the night before the all star game good point he can't come they can't come so. A lot of that is taken into account that's why you see in the -- managers. Not think starting pitcher -- -- to take in the closer. Or big set up guy -- -- closers. Supposed to starting rotation up to the fans who vote would be a starter and that gets a little sketchy Darche. -- a couple other a couple of topics story we got Kevin slowly Jason Kubel playing it for -- Myers now so I mean they're they're starting to work their way back up -- got underclassmen rounds and I saw that it'll had a setback in the foot unfortunately. I thought time long term impact for those two guys in particular slowly who had it was pretty Rocky juniors before it Jason Kubel was very who is very good when he was here. Four era while I think slowly is to be determined he hasn't pitched force really all your I think he threw 22 games early in the season threw well and and says double is bothering him he couldn't get couldn't get warm in the bullpen. In time to be effective as a bullpen pitcher so. -- that doubted you feel like that was -- sure he's. Playing on TV read was the six guys you're six guys in the sixth guy even in one spot in the rotation. Brian dancing at that point and there was probably a number three -- and on does things a little up and down McCarty trust stunts and so dumb things -- to me you're probably looking at a guy who will either be gone or. Have to figure out how to get out off this available to say you say you don't you that's not a lot that necessarily slowly gets back up to this now back at the team again at all not at all. I predict he never throws a power pitcher in Major League Baseball. That you went that sour that it is no chance of coming up. I'll get our bet my money I'd bet on the the underdog would be what I just said but I'd bet on it slowly has value for sure and he he had some really good. Some moments in the big leagues where he did really well. But I think right now they're not counting on him and all -- wildly different we kind of blew it a little bit with all due respect -- of this team not as much Jew but. The it that we've lost all of our leverage on the Kevin -- ahead because everybody knows that everybody's hate each other right now and if he's gonna lose to big spots got in spring training and you know is gonna lose. Then you end and you also know it takes him an hour you're ready to originating out of the bullpen and you've got to make the move then you know remain. What you've got no leverage on it trying to make a deal with them how right I mean wouldn't argue almost. Glen Perkins had a very acrimonious relationship of this team for a long time good points fortunately they held onto -- -- -- end up paying off now I don't know the U wanna sell low ones always. I at least I agree I think Kevin has some definite worst in the league there's no doubt right now today. How much where does he have been. You know we don't have a lot of guys. That were not counting on -- play every day better than that that I have a lot of worst trade value and I we just don't. Your expressions via fox sports and -- dot com tell tell the cats -- I'll Ron -- and studio -- is Paul church in from -- -- dot com and I'm Paul Allen final segment and do the fourth of July elongated weekend for you. Is next when we return to the fan televised to fox sports north dot com. Where there are holes on this team shortstop hole -- -- don't 200 and -- it took me a -- hasn't played well at all and I think that's self inflicted pressure. To be quite honest with TO not that good a player. Somewhere else with high levels of competition we have and I agree that. Japan baseball is how high level of competition whether it's the big leagues cannot there's still -- level every capsule. To me you're looking at a guy who. Got broke within the first week you come in here literally literally now he's putting a lot of pressure on himself because he wants to succeed here. He's not making routine plays he's not hitting the ball. Pull off the balls we talked the last time I was here yeah those are all things because he's trying to do too much yet and it's TK years ago we used to have this T -- I know guardians announced. Office wall mouth to Superman buster and don't try to be Superman right and I think right now and this is I could be wrong. We rarely but could be wrong -- I I I think he's trying to be Superman and do too much once he gets into the flow of big league baseball. I think you're gonna see the ball I can't watch him without thinking about you because he does it every time does -- all the weight thing every time. You should describe even though it was it was just a week ago there's a lot of people didn't hear -- last week is I think you're dead on value analyzed his swing I think it's I think it Bears repeating. And I was close to the field. Twins side of the field. Went when he batted in the middle game against the Dodgers -- we don't get the not just the TV and odd angle I was behind him. And he starts to fall away almost when the guy is completing his motion it's great. Yeah when you hit you have to stay east that. And so that means your shoulder your hips everything's got to stay upright and stand there and once you start to swinging you start going to the baseball. Why let me she's doing as he's fading towards the first base dugout. And you can't stay on a pitch that's the outer better. Especially one that's moving away from to a righty you know to see her moving away from him more left in a breaking ball. When your -- is going toward the first base dugout your front shoulder going toward the first base dugout all of a sudden all your fate no way you can't. You know the best ball Q yeah does that little ground ball may be in the hole he might flip -- over the third -- we've had that's really got so. To me he's got to stay in there longer. To be able -- put the ball and play with any authority. And I just think now teams are just pounding him there just throw him away. And keep the normal way you might throw one ball like we talked about incompetent and he's no longer be honest just to get a little effect fiction that he's done for the. Rogge speaking of the 150 I had Bert Blyleven and the day after that and I'm glad I lessons. No offense in -- I think it's an interesting talker in that you know I disagree if -- played the game in the unwritten rules probably mean more to use them they do to -- -- For instance. If somebody opens up 78 or nine on new and they're not the White Sox the Tigers this is the freaking broke National League team. Where you are struggling they're getting hit after hit they're not on June at the wrong time they're not stealing. Chose him guys compete and wondering -- and those guys. It's an in your face Milwaukee Friday trying to get the big payback against the Brewers this weekend got swept by the Brewers last weekend. Minnesota Twins are back home were obviously -- most teams was certainly that much better. It's figure that out the brought Rocco Cameron's studio fox sports north fox sports are dot com. What happens to the Brewers when they go on the road. Many teams have been swept by the Yankees okay CC sabathia yesterday. When I got home from the stand for a went up to the racetrack has settled and final few innings of that game CC sabathia. Seventh inning 986. With a fastball changeup was 87. Slider might have been 82 -- like that or vice Versa it was on a ball leave the -- out if it's CC sabathia or maybe I'm wrong Iraq's you know more about it than me. But it's CC sabathia control fastball at 96 miles per hour build ever lose again. Not if he can throw or wants and he's one of those guys ET can get it close to a location any sort certain hitters up. He sees as good as we have in the game for a lefthander what happens to the Brewers on the road and the like fifteen and 27 maybe like golf too much and yeah. I went and -- I just undoubtedly odd looks they hate breaks and the other night and I don't know made their record is really lopsided enough. So you have to look at a bunch of different things. When you look at their ballpark this year and a I really feel like they were at a. Major advantage for the teams in the midwest because of the rough being on their stadium yeah all the all the midwest teams have played in lousy weather. Up until June 1. So for the first two months. Hitting was then. Tough pitching was dominating. And most of it and they got to play in a great hitters ballpark day in and day out I think that's at some point to a. And at the Brewers just like to go out a lot of -- those pitchers have a Dave Stewart Lucille moment I -- Minneapolis basically gambling outlets -- -- -- around good and you know what I hear it a dark. How we talked some Glen Perkins are expand on -- a little -- tell me how important you think it is to have him back in the bull and and putting you know have him have your set up guy ready to go that you trust -- kind of season he's out. Okay were lap in in charge is what it is like wiry guys lapses. Dave Stewart did we do with the Dodgers in the days of the time knees and remember him well -- very good -- -- very good pitcher snapped hooked up with somebody you know that you grant DeVine brown away a little money alone again. Well lose seals room it was Larry. Right but he didn't find out Angela yeah that's practice -- that I'll look at anyway -- with 200 dollar awhile and it well. At a sample size church now -- so we are how. Hope I get in jail -- up up up a little problem there. If not yet I'm Pete in my lap Larry Ratliff is -- Jeff and knuckle hair -- -- doubt and yeah hopefully mr. and what happened the what was the question what was the response to let her ends yeah how important to have to have back pitching well. All the incredibly he's been. In the -- -- When you -- -- set up guy we struggled with after longtime Nathan's elbow bothered him Jana couldn't pitch. -- -- a guy who as a starting pitcher was throwing 9092. I still laughing but it's like -- Williams -- that's definitely our lap okay. I'm very sorry for the past two days. Send out and I'm laughing so it's good did you think of the stop laughing and Simpsons are going to be okay -- that's my prediction we're going to be all right has nothing no money no not do no right answer longevity that -- multiple that's nothing new that's what's right here at slash I got to. Absolutely you should know that up arm to me with -- he found a role on this club that's unique he's figured out how to get ready and we timely fashion so we can be relevant global -- And now he only pitches one inning he can turn out. Ballot guy strong mid ninety's and has posted ninety to 92 that extra three miles an hour you want -- auction tonight if he gets thinner -- this weekend he's. He's kittens in there and he's locating so to me. You talked to -- I know he's gonna wanna go back to the rotation era but there are a lot of teams looking at him going this -- relevant the bullpen he's been a godsend for our ball. -- -- -- transition from a guy has over performed to expectations to somebody's underperformed that's Danny -- I thought you know most was -- -- that he was on -- trajectory. Right to be a long term solution at third base. He's batting 218 Ron and he'd just you know we're seeing defensive deficiencies are -- hockey news' Chad is money two weeks ago -- right now I mean you know it will where do you. You know what do you see so far. And what's your level of concern over what we've seen what Danny Valencia. It offensively you speak about mechanically about what he's going through he's a guy that is facing that sophomore. Time period where. The league has seen him -- Nevada's actor -- now they're making adjustments to what he's done. And they're thrown a lot more breaking pitches or speed them up inside a lot more off speed pitches. He's getting himself follow a lot more and when you watch him hit. He has a lot of pre pitch movement -- he -- fans do a lot of things before they get set to go. And with that if that happens a little late now here out of timing yeah and he deals with a lot of that. Then you'll see him rush -- already doesn't -- away but he rushes forward he's real susceptible. Off speed pitches and because he -- it's just they see that and then they're gonna. You know they're gonna keep throwing him off speed pitches -- we can start -- -- -- -- -- defensively I don't remember being this error prone last year. He thinks he's gotten better actually he's he's good going to his -- he's good with the ball Adam. The ball to his backhand side every third baseman has that spot worked out you know that's an issue maybe two Israelis he's not as good -- who's left. But he's he's got himself into a hurry sometimes when he fumbles the ball. And maybe Canucks a little like we all do at third base when you don't catch the ball clean and he's thrown some balls away but. You know my my biggest issue with getting is. Offensively as he going to be able to come back out what they're doing -- on -- other pitchers don't -- Is he a guy like Alexi Casilla that would be well served to spend some time in the minors get his mechanics squared away come back up and see what he can get. I I think it would do him a lot of good for a lot of different reasons probably go to the minor leagues I just don't see any any I just don't see the twins having -- You know unless you make -- Peugeot third baseman I don't know off guard he really has the options. Are sending a guy down who can run the ball out of the ballpark you know and if you don't play -- he's on the pension they hang a slider he hits at the upper deck can you go -- We've still got a threats and that's probably part of the reason guardians and some don't. We mentioned when Perkins earlier left handed set up guy in front Matt Capps Joseph Nathan came in the other night struck out a couple that was big for the team because they need a right handed arm -- their strike somebody out. That's supposed to be -- But you know what Glenn's spot is supposed to be Jose mares and Jose -- opening up its just. It -- scary now hear from a Tom to the eighteenth tee box it's a good question now the thing about baseball is really got to know about options like Alexi Casilla. He's out of options so he could stick it up as much he wants he's got a clear waivers wobbled while battle thing. Not sure about our race. But why small car race on the roster and not Chuck James. As the as the as the post surgery that's why do much -- -- of the job. But still I mean my -- It's just one way he has so much talent what has happened. He just doesn't sort of strikes it's just so that was that always behind -- you we had this issue with what Joseph was calling last week. I think they're both had some issues with accountability there. But with that being said. You get into a habit of putting fastball down when a guy can throw strikes and got Mijares just I I really like and I think he. Could turn this around and be really effective but you have to throw more strikes he just has not done that at all. And he gets mad miyazato June -- over -- only melts down on the mound you know he's gone but if you're inner circle of your life yeah I got out right well. Got it right it is a -- that but. Now that's that's exactly right he's you've got to understand what you're all listen. Coming in. As a left handed setup guy you have to throw strikes that's like perk has been so good. He throws strikes out pitch after pitch after pitch you get quick out she double plays you know punch out. That's what you have to. Idea we haven't we haven't touched on probably the biggest story of the week Jo-Jo and Joe Mauer taking some reps at first base I made an impassioned plea earlier this week. To keep them at catcher for a lot of reasons I don't -- spark. Conine and yeah I like get out like -- say and I disagreed with -- take zealous and every minute of the show he's gonna explain it here. It's very calculated what he's gonna say it's value oriented. You know but go ahead. I love it works it it breaks out a few different ways one. It's not like we've got a catch to replace him that you feel very good about that you know that number two it's not could just go play first base I mean. There's a skill to be a first base crack any of the Clippers basically he's got to go play out of position you're gonna have to it's gonna take a long time to just wrap up and I right. I just think you know the casual fans like go play first base. Are -- he has Victor Martinez Carlos Santana for the Cleveland Indians both accomplished very good catchers. Had in -- played some first base or you keep him in the lineup and both are doing pretty well. People that are angry about -- contract his contract makes sense as a catcher if the only way he can fulfill the only way he can fulfill his contract is as a catcher. If you move to first base and even if he hits the -- you traditionally is that -- Jack contract doesn't make sense. And lastly you're getting very little power out of your first base position which is also Timmy. Something of a non starter you want that first baseman to be somebody who can hit home runs and I don't think that's Jamar common occurrence so that's the abbreviated version -- my take. What's yours. I would agree for the first time ever would like let's tell us what I'm. Actually -- all about the money part of -- the money is spent you have to be -- get wound up over the catcher wear and asked to go we spent the freaking money it's gone he's here right now I gotta find word according to keep him in the lineup and that'll -- hits. He. I say you have to have him behind the -- he's. The problem with moving -- from behind the plate is not you weaken two positions offensively yes and I'll hear it. I look at it -- a catcher needs to catch up. I feel like in the future he's gonna understand. More and more about what's gonna keep him on the field and that's a learning process for them. But -- The bottom line is he's the best catcher in baseball if he's healthy now -- and I also think. He's gonna be back contract at that game they've got a hand against LA. You know the fans got on a little bit -- all of a sudden his bat got a little more aggressive -- he now all of a sudden these. 45 game hit streak you start and all of that you're gonna see maybe. Signs of that MVP player that we had you know couple years. Come back I hope so we just such a nice guy and he's a great kid he's a hometown guy. I just hope he figures this out and -- and kind of feel on the. Well that China -- we have three years and years to go one of seeing him be one of the best contact hitters in baseball now that's not going to evaporate he's going to get back to form. And we're gonna want him in the money position. Out but then the next gripe is going to be how come we gave 123 million dollars off X amount of home runs and now only it's twelve every year. -- dances and but. Called Dave saint Peter we got to move bunch of little. And it did at Comerica but that's what about that they've built America their first marquee free agent signing Juan Gonzales with the walls like 400 you don't -- Gonzales complained about it they moved to man. Now now they hit home runs they had not the other night. Sorry Dave I didn't let I -- defense scampering they bring a backup isn't the ideal retreat I might care less -- and Oakland total not get -- them up well yeah you know. I don't know I me. We need to do at Citizens Bank does not steal would I be now Citizens Bank on its batters I. Has this dark dark ID -- the ball. Minnesota is not known for IED and Philadelphia is Minnesota's note from these big epic injuries heal up as the number cheese steaks big -- Wanna that pathetic we've got to be getting up so he's back there -- -- -- -- be mad at its -- everywhere how do you ever agrees that cover the whole wall not halfway out on top perfect -- Now I -- little baby ever greens out there who's supposed to watch him grow over I had Malcolm Lee hit better in the freaking trees -- there. Think about it we hit better last year with a -- well I agree -- the hitters in the lineup. I was okay you've got overlooked handling the -- This -- night Denard span in studio month ago you never been a studio. And we played out in -- -- in studio and then somebody said something funny we hit. I always loved him and he started looking around where it got hot and but I I -- by the court our place at the -- have got -- -- -- -- the heat up. Week out here and that was ridiculous and whenever I we have a minute snapped ago I'm -- I'm -- personally and professionally vulnerable I'd like I'm here I'm happy to show. And this is a short one. A lot of griping going out -- the team let J. J. Hardy go because he's -- a great year you know Baltimore's looking to resign him elite eleven home runs he's -- 300. And with all of the infield losses in the depth that we want with it you can make a case and it's absolutely hindsight. But you can make a case that you know team should have known -- could have known that maybe you wanna keep. J. J. Hardy I thought Billy Smith. They're great thing by bringing JJ yeah but it didn't work out for us. Only because he couldn't stay on the injury -- everybody always believe that J. J. Hardy was a good shortstop. He didn't have great range but he caught the ball that was said to him but he got the outs he should and he offensively. He knew he had a good player. It is very easy to say hindsight we should kept KJ I think and Billy Smith's mind and parties mind. They made the trade if he would have stayed on the field for a 14050. Games last year. He'd be playing -- -- -- for sure that's just the issue couldn't stay healthy you couldn't see. He couldn't foresee whether or not he was going to when you're gonna pay a lot of money for a guy who might be on the DL almost. You big fireworks got. I will watch him. Good dogs and all -- -- simply enjoy yourself a nice for everybody we can guy start thank you view Audrey -- everybody Sam have a wonderful week and aren't you -- depth thanks for listening I'm Paul Allen have a great -- weakened by.
