Bryan Webber welcome the hoops hysteria pleased to be John -- college basketball analyst Jon Crispin. Recapping the championship game it was dramatic in the Missouri Valley Conference it took overtime but Creighton held on to beat Illinois state Blue Jays. Did not give up a field goal overtime until the final 45 seconds that's update. Yeah I -- the and I think that the Blue Jays felt the pressure on every bubble team in the country. And this is a game a lot of people were following because you know -- issue with Craig was going to be an -- what where another. Starting Doug McDermott everybody wants to see Beckham play -- -- tournament there and no matter what. The last thing you wanna see is a team like that get upset if you're bubble team and there's a lot of them out there right now everybody has every bubble team in the tournament at this -- everybody and everybody's in. Except my oregano and stuff so it's so it was good to see them finally settle in. And locked down on defense and that was something they kind of took for granted all game it's like they could score when they really needed a bucket. So they really relaxed a -- on defense until that overtime period which was for us. And you talked about Craig's all American candidate Doug McDermott won the best players in college basketball this year. How dangerous could this team be in the NCAA tournament at twelve win you win the Larry Bird award Larry Bird player of the year award in the Missouri Valley Conference they're saying that's the dissect. And it's the way he does it was impressive and. And yes he won the Larry Bird or what but he plays like Larry Bird. Very Smart very heady basketball player and I watched him run the floor it's not just springing up before -- quick -- and -- up against the position. So he gets into position where he couldn't see the ball and score with teams. And I think it's it's the way he does he really makes it. Tough for defenders because you have to cover every part of what if the pick them up at half court and you have to start fighting for position because he does fight he is a score. He is gonna look the score is gonna look to get baskets easy baskets around the basket. And and that's tough to cover a tough to got a Smart guy is hard to cover and that's why would you watch a lot of people think he could beat the Jimmer Fredette. Of this NC -- -- as good gosh how things play out but in terms of the ability to put a team on his metaphor -- -- as always we appreciate the insight. That is gonna do it for this edition of hoops hysteria don't forget foxsports.com as you covered Troy college basketball needs for John Bryant we'll see next up.
