Mike Smith tells us what goes in the coaching in the Pro Bowl in Hawaii. And Mike Pereira explains how the Super Bowl officials are selected all the -- more -- coach -- presented by GMC. Welcome the coach speak presented by the GMC never say never moment of the week. We're all set for Super Bowl 45 and let's get right to the big game. To take a first look at the Packers Steelers Super Bowl let's -- our post season analyst and head coach of the Detroit Lions Jim Schwartz. Let's talk about that the Super Bowl matchup really intriguing matchup I'm I'm fascinated giving your take on the team defense is Pittsburgh green today. Kind of are related to a degree dom capers Dick LeBeau that zone pressures they do such a great job. But to you need to this game two quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger can't test those avoided blitz zone a little bit better than that most teams. You know both quarterbacks are upstanding. And I really don't think any defense on a slew the other quarterback you mentioned they're very similar. I think gives the radio wires got crossed and dom capers started talking to Pittsburgh defense -- tomorrow we understand everything that he was column it probably executed same thing with Dick LeBeau. And Green -- But I think an important part of this is Green -- practice every day at training camp against dom capers defense which has Pittsburgh Steelers defense. As -- thing on -- up practice every -- training camp against the lobos -- that's what you -- neighbors say your -- anybody's going. They're very well when it would each other they've played each other past more so they're. You know their their defense is matchups so what's really gonna call all the quarterbacks how what they can excuse on Super Bowl Sunday. The thing however I think I respect the most of these two defense is these two coordinators is the system of taking that linebacker that 622354555. Pound linebacker that maybe doesn't have a role for a lot of teams. You put -- met this this hybrid linebacker that sometimes drops a lot of times blitzes. And that what they get out of James Harrison Woodley. Even -- Clay Matthews who was you know drop down not a top round draft choice but pretty good the kid Jones that they hit the productivity they get out of line backing -- Well this series. Exhibit -- that the pats. I think that they've always had that -- you're seeing a lot more teams in the NFL goats that. Aren't you know wrong we have to be NFL outplay some urgent reforms so. You know this argues that monopoly don't -- kind of players now they have competition on the Green Bay is -- you know Baltimore. -- just a bunch other teams that are all planned same kind of scheme but I think the biggest thing with coaching is I don't know philosophy. And it find employers that's -- that philosophy and that's that's really key scalping is key to -- draft skew your free agency. It's -- plans require what you're draft and make streets and within your scheme. He's got the ability to make a play. But how -- the post season officials elected we recently hooked up with the NFL former head of officials Mike forever to find out. Let's talk a little bit about how the officials are graded for post season competition. You know it's interesting because today they are like it seems there there there you know seventh round in the playoff and and they're graded every week include the week seventeen and a -- seventies. Could be your week that he puts them behind -- or actually -- the and and the great no differently in the in new York and we seventy neighbors we want and look at their careers well they're gonna see if they make correct call and -- call no call them they should have made it that you didn't. And yet they're gonna they're gonna TV. Crew and -- in advance we will be roots in the first round while our division now they won't go all together because there are some people are out for a number of reasons rookie network in the playoffs. You have to make your standard so your crew mates and you're individual or reckless that you didn't make a standard that is. Accuracy professionalism and decisiveness. Rule knowledge. Fitness you don't meet that standard and you he -- moved on -- your -- -- replaced by somebody who did in the -- position. They hit a weekly score when I when I officiated game on week seven I get a scorn that game so I know my score us. You did you will that crew gets -- score. And each individual. Scorers individual performance who's gonna take it a -- -- -- a 155. Plays the game which is usually average number per game then they'll get the number of plays that they appreciated correctly. So they get a 155. Plays that they appreciate and they appreciate a 148. Of them correctly and makes them as they and their percentage of 96 points not that bad as it is a crew and an individual. -- the same thing because when you gravy game into a call is messed. What do you do if you did they crew downgrade. And then you -- the individual. That missed the call -- -- really bowl awaits you end up into the season you end up with would be. Sorry crews in the new ball and with the top result would be that is a missed call. -- the same as a inaccurate call. Well it's it's it's level out a little. You know because we always. -- -- and I. And and you know and and you say well and I that's a whole legitimate call that maybe you can justify that because the guy and had a good angle or he had to make a decision on him out of restriction. I always was easier for you to handle our problem is. And and I didn't see this they'd probably about a little bit in me and all -- if you do that. You encourage personal not throw line and I think that's the danger there and that's when the number of -- or do you know. The less than -- than -- official in his mind as well out. Spoke with -- wait Phillips is your turn to coach the -- of last year just to get an idea of how long run -- how long your practice what do you really get accomplished. You know and there's some logistical things expressing the kicking game there and it really stressed our special teams coaches now. You -- but you guys aren't used to playing special teams that are gonna look at you like okay this is an in my contract. Yeah okay Kennedy is gonna be as pristine and of course I think yeah. We've got a plan that -- you know to get it done. But those guys have done -- a long time so I don't know how well the you know special teams productions and -- because. There are all there are Pro Bowl returner and they're not Pro Bowl -- guys covered that aren't sure. My coach a book report of the game. We'll have time for senior Brian. With Super Bowl 45 just around the corner let's take a look at a few of this season's finalists for the never say never moment of the year. Let's turn back the clock to week fifteen the Eagles trailed the Giants 3110. With 728 remaining. But Philly fought back and tied the game which seemed destined overtime. But the shot Jackson would have none of that. Hobbled by a foot injury all week Jackson returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown on the final play of the game giving the Eagles and improbable victory. We know Aaron Rodgers is a heck of quarterback but he also has some great receivers this week on Billick won one we learn about how the packers' favor route to rush. With -- filled in the office coordinator for the green bay Packers and -- you guys have -- a lot behave in terms you're crossing route your shallow crossing routes -- drive front right. Type -- want to talk is about like. Those but the couple basic components of the line drive hitters number one is the split of the drive -- okay. And -- driver -- -- has what we call we tell a couple key points as a driver number one is we like them to be about four yards. Right. From basic -- Okay for guys from the basic -- so. With that in mind we may line up there we may start to receivers aside emotion to a but typically we may do this -- that motion short motions get our receivers -- the driver. In the position that we want okay. The second rule for him is he's basically. He's a shallow cross runner. And he has what we call. Greengrass rules again so what Greengrass entities. But again West Coast we're not a huge option not feel we give a guy for different choices we kind and -- go down form. But we he's a -- Crawford is gonna have green grass rules we'd like them to come underneath. All -- back you know underneath all linebackers. But potentially even what we would call as the board drop. He's got those Greengrass rules he wants to get four yards -- From the basic -- He's gonna release he's gonna push -- you can really use the release of the tight end. Ahmad Billick ran to wanna talk about quarterback Jay Cutler Chicago Bears now the guys get beat up after obviously the tough loss against the Green Bay Packers. Have more to the point. Having sat out most the game with an injury and I think it's unwarranted the young man that's a tough quarterback I've seen that I've seen him take the hit. If you did go back in -- because he couldn't play because he couldn't function on that -- But it brings into sharper focus the way we look at a quarterback like Jay Cutler. He's been beat up ad infinitum about the way he carries himself he's not much of a leader and those inside that building we'll tell you. You're wrong that he is a leader that the players like playing for him. But it does underlined this when I sit in a different room every Friday for fox and visit with quarterback after quarterback team after team and when guys like Drew Brees. Philip Rivers Peyton Manning. Tom Brady walked in that room there is a command presence they carry themselves in a certain way. Now it's not fair that Jay Cutler is gonna be compared to them in terms of the way he conducts himself one on one with the media me or anybody else but the fact of the matter is he is going to be judged that way there is something to command presence and right now Jay Cutler doesn't get that he asked to understand the way he conducts themselves. Does reflect on himself does reflect on his team. And it affects his ability to lead his team you can't just dismiss it and say that's not me that's not important to -- I don't listen to it. Command presence is a function and he better develop it if he expects to perform and be thought out. In the league of those other quarterback.
