We. I -- Barrett Brock Penn State is coming up 76 season and fourth place finish in the big tent for preview of this year's Nittany Lions. Please that'd be joined by mark Brennan got that team for a fight on state dot com mark. Good to be with -- let's Begin with the quarterback position here Tommy who appears the front runner for the quarterback spot right now. Well you know heading in this to a pre season practice rob Bolden and blowing. Where the two primary candidates and with Kevin Newsome leading the program. PJ Jones I think some academic issues. They really are the two guys who were fighting it out you know my take on this is Boldin who was Penn State's first true freshman to start an opener. In a century last year and ultimately going to be the guy I think you know to me He has more an upside. That's not a not fumble and a point at some really good games last year but he's struggled. Against some of the better secondary is that He faced I just think Bolden has more an upside and ultimately I think he's going to be the guy their quarterback. You know the Nittany Lions had finances on both sides of the line of scrimmage what are the more intriguing battles in your mind going on in the trenches right now. Well you know down obviously on the offensive line you they lose that was -- he's an all American. But they've still have a very veteran group there you know I think they're pretty solid just about everywhere. Outside a one guard spot it's between John Herschel indeed on -- and -- You know it's a veteran group but they're just kind of the other working to get that chemistry in the match to get together and throughout this wearing their little bit behind the defense side of the ball. I think I could be a real. -- trouble spot for them early in the season especially with Alabama real stout defense. Coming in here the second week of the season over on the defense of line they should be outstanding defense to tackle DeVon still. Really came on late last year played real well -- game against Florida. And it deep -- the -- they lost the really good wanna pigments are to a knee injury. But two guys who were out last year route which slowed last year with injuries. Jack Crawford and -- Lattimore both seem to be full go so I think it should be pretty good on that defense of -- that -- that the defense of wind should be different for Penn State this year. Finally what -- we talked about this team we of course talk about the coach Joseph Paterno we got the season started by taking a blind side shot on the first day of practice. Nothing could stop them -- guys actress 46 season -- it's long and you see Joseph pop coaching. I think it's really going to -- -- be determined by his health you know Big Ten media days if you -- a few weeks ago He looked and sounded great but you know more recently. We've learned that in practice. He was hit by a player. Sustain hairline fractures to his army have you know how it back when impact his ability to coach this year. Yeah I just think it's all going to come down to how He is physically I think he's going to get past this most recent issue. You know anything serious when -- 84 years old but when I hear hairline -- doesn't seem quite as serious to me. The ability to stay healthy though overall from you know to do just staying away from some of those illnesses. That that hits you when you get up there last year Joseph had what was described is that -- digestive problem that really bothered him throughout the season. And He really did look like He was it was coming around of the top form tilt toward the end of this season so. You never know what's gonna get hit Jets He says He wants to go for five more years is that ambitious may be but I think it's really going all. The be determined by itself. -- mark thanks for the insights and don't forget foxwoods dot com has you covered for all your football needs a -- Brock. We'll see next.
