Christian -- alongside Ken Rosenthal the Yankees pull out the surprising win in the ninth inning huge ninth inning of course it starts with Johnny Damon. A nine pitch at bat heady base running. Talk about what you saw down on the field during that well Johnny Damon is a free agent at the end of the season and if he leads. Obviously the Yankees are going to miss him. This guy is not what he wants ones but he remains a very good baseball player that we saw in two different ways. Won the prolonged at bat against image. Two out none on high score -- is throwing well sliders working Johnny fights off pitches -- the one for strike three. But ultimately he lines that single gets it going. Then with the shift done. Steals second and you know very heady play takes third knowing that Pedro Feliz who was covering second could not -- a foot race -- Johnny Damon. I talked to yeah Yankees -- base coach Robbie Thompson after the game with a number of other reporters and he said this is something that they teach their players to do. Be heads up when the ship design you may get an opportunity taken basically that well. Not every player can do that even though he's being heads up Johnny Damon was heads up huge part of -- Brad -- one strike away from -- this up at least extending the game was tied at that point but then the gas can on the fire what happened. What happened was what has happened to Bradley all season he became unraveled even those situations seem to being control. He seemed to be throwing well. But you saw the -- that it was the one that triggered the rest of it and man obviously it's a great -- we all know that but Bradley -- when he is right. He can hand when he -- but he has had difficulty almost like Cole Hamels. Getting out of tough jams and situations this season and that one that was a really tough. Not coming unraveled as A-Rod gets plunked in the first inning again third time in the last two games. Kept his composure. He ends up getting a big in the ninth inning like we talked about. What about getting plot there is believed to be going after they just trying to bust and it's like is that the book on them. In the Yankees estimation they are going after him and the proof in the players' minds is that -- hit three times in two games. I talked with several Yankees players afterward and I say I'm not gonna put her name on this tell me the truth what was the feeling in the dugout in the clubhouse -- that was going on. And the feeling is very simple yes it is deliberate yes it's for reason and they feel that. Alex Rodriguez was going to get his turn and ultimately he did. If -- implicit to me don't wake him up. Obviously this is Alex Rodriguez's first World Series that is one of the biggest hits of his career he's had a lot of -- this year and yet. He kept his composure and yet at the same time. Obviously was motivated by what had gone on the last two days. We talk about how important is -- who was for the Phillies we talk about this after the game last night. I -- will Charlie Manuel maybe panic you've go to Cliff Lee you said absolutely not the -- Joe Blanton in hindsight what do you think about the Blanton tonight. I still like -- Christian I still think Charlie Manuel did the right thing in starting Joe Blanton. Now talking with -- sports writing rather and I know there's going to be a lot of second guessing of the decision tomorrow. But I keep coming back to one quickly it already thrown to a 65 innings this season -- and more importantly -- never started on three days' rest. And then look at the game and -- unraveled how involved tonight. At Joe plans -- and Joe Blanton pitched serve recently. Four runs in six innings. The offense of the Phillies is the bigger issue. And at some point this series they're going to need to outscored the Yankees. Something that they really have done yet the Cliff -- game the game one was obviously game well for them that you that you holders. But -- offense to a very large degree. Has been -- especially their left handed hitters against left handed pitchers with the exception but the against sabathia. So I do not second guess this is. To me it's wrong to second guess this is -- and Joe Glenn's performance -- I thought justified with Charlie Manuel did. Parts of game five it's AJ Burnett Cliff Lee trying to extend the series for the Phillies who -- like are you like going back to New York. Yes I believe we are going back to New York I believe the Phillies have won last breath in them it's going to come from the not that I don't believe AJ Burnett or pitch well he has a limited track record on three days' rest but a very good track record. It's just that we right now is one of the dominant pitchers in the game -- sabathia. And he is the guy and it is ultra competitive. He won't want to take his game on his own shoulders tomorrow. But again it's going to come down to some degree of the Phillies offense. They've been better against right handers than left handers in the post season but Burnett shut them down in game two. So all like the Phillies I certainly do not like him when the series but there when tomorrow at least they have light. This is the ninth time in Yankees history they've led the World Series greens to line. He previous times they have won the World Series the quest for 27 continues team. Fine tomorrow night here in Philadelphia will be here after the game -- will be under the broadcast we will see you then things can.
