Hi I'm Bryan -- Alabama BX 3721. To win the BCS championship game for now let's bring in a college football analyst Patrick happening because Patrick is. Colt McCoy went down with a shoulder injury the first quarter how -- to keep this game close deep into the fourth quarter.
You know really simple Brian I think agents man I think that's what happen I mean they did a great job staying in the game obviously Alabama. Folded it in a little bit with a lot of running plays in the second half the third quarter Alabama just seem to me like they were gonna depend on the it'd depend on the defense at -- And I was fine you know -- that was about it that a lot of people Alabama but the quarterback the young quarterback started to get more comfortable Gilbert started on the ball around and have a little bit more success. Find it Shipley on a deep ball I mean he looked like a candle in the wind and before that -- look like he had a chance at all. It is football game but they're trying to hug and they kept it close to defensively they got a lot of pressure on -- right. I thought Texas played really well without their leader I mean for the last four years Texas football is depended on the legs and arm of Colt McCoy. All the sudden I mean he's been so durable he's been so fantastic you've been such a great leader and such a great college football. Player a guy with a great story that we paid attention to promote -- Half a decade. And all of sudden he goes down and this kid comes in and he's getting beat up by the best defense in the country maybe you know what it was really intriguing it was a fun game ultimately Alabama had a little too much. But they kept it close and -- an interstate but they just couldn't overcome losing Colt McCoy and they played good on defense and play makers made plays but but Texas just fell short because Colt McCoy without I think they probably would won the game with him. Yeah you just have to say defensively they were fantastic I mean they ran the football. With three wonderful back. Actually after the first Heisman Trophy winner in the history of the university. And they were fantastic and defensively they just -- stars on every level I mean that's what you know. A great defense truly is if that's the college level when you have a star like Cody upfront a guy a leader like Rolando McClain right in the middle. And then a guy like Arenas running around the back side and it really solid all the way through with a lot of role players that we're just fantastic tonight. You know they were great defensively they're well coached there were -- discipline I mean Greg McElroy is not that great quarterback I don't -- that. The running back him and the offensive line and and the coaching try to make up for all.
Mark -- won the Heisman this year scored two touchdowns in the BCS championship game he's coming back next year.
How that would -- I'd be next year.
Well I think there -- start out as the number one team in the country I think there's no question about it this. It probably lose McClain but. But they'll keep some of their other guys and MLB highly touted coming into the season. They are a little bit of a conservative football team for me to put all my eggs in that basket going into next season because. I think that there are not a team that plays well from behind and I -- Jack's physical quite stayed in the game with about fourteen to nothing early in the first quarter. And Alabama one heck of a time trying to come back there Brian I don't know if it were. -- it would have been able to do that and I think that it kind of a few more situations well they'll be behind next season but they'll start out as number one but ultimately. Next year I think it's gonna be organ and Ohio State's. It rematch. For the BCS championship but that's a ways away.
But it -- I -- we appreciate -- don't forget box for not got much covered. For all your college football needs I'm Bryan Webber will you next.
