Hi I'm Barry Le Brock Lindsay Davenport won three Grand Slam titles and Olympic gold -- over the course of her stand out tennis career right now I'm pleased to be joined by the former number one ranked player in the world. Lindsay Davenport Lindsay recently now that you're gonna play several matches in the Saint Louis eight is that of course the world team tennis league. Telling where your game is right now.

nonexistent but hopefully it fortified mind that'll be. At a high level I definitely haven't picked up the -- much since my second child was born but a few months to get ready for the summer.

Agent and they haven't picked up a racquet in some time you will turn 34 this summer I know you have two kids. What are the chant is have you ever returning to the women's tour.

Very and you know last -- I played was the 08 US open. -- two kids is. Not that we needed jump right back in amount of 33 and getting up there -- I will be getting in shape and getting ready to play team tennis we'll see if that leads to meet possibly playing wondered event in the Olympics with open series this summer but. For sure not a full time return to tennis then just focusing on being a mom and be -- for my kids right now.

And they've been around a long time but you know looking from the out -- and now what's your take on the overall health of women's tennis.

I think we're doing much much better than getting -- be the start at some good years so critical that we got Kim Clijsters and Justine and back. Always said that he -- players retire. Are not playing at a young age -- great to get them back in the game two of the bat. Venus and Serena are like the stalwarts of women's tennis now they've done such a remarkable job. Pain in -- and longevity of their career. It be great to see a couple more stars breakthrough. -- years have been tough we and a few girls. You know a lot of negative story -- they would double fault team are not coming through big moment. It's great to have the best players back out there competing. Hopefully everyone will be at the highest level.

Lindsay not -- the power to pull this off but if I can make you commissioner. For a day what's the one team would change about tennis.

For sure the calendar but it definitely have to be streamlined more. In in no other sport you start the season two week span of one of the biggest event of the year coming right off the off season. And then you plate from January. Through November's just barely makes -- that it doesn't allow for the players ever really be a 100%. Recover from injuries.

They really need to do something about that you know last year you did a media work calling matches for the Tennis Channel as a former player. Do you find it hard to you know maybe be critical. Of current player on the court.

It is any one of my pet peeves and I was playing what people being too critical on me especially pats players like. It wasn't a lot of that would you're out here it's not that easy. Like keep that in mind but tried also. Like the viewers maybe some of the strategy that's going on -- some of the favorite shots from the players and I played against almost all of them. But it is tough and I'm still learning every day and likely sitting out that people talk about sports on any station about any sport. I'm trying to what -- that I personally enjoy listening to -- and trying to emulate them when I get on there.

Finally Lindsay I know you part of a campaign to get kids off the couch and get him going playing tennis what are the details and.

Well you registration as a fantastic event to get. Children exposed to the sports had to get them out there playing get off the couches you go to tennis night dot com get all the information. About advancing your neck of the woods. Your area culminates with a B and -- part about showdown on Monday night -- square garden. But really we're just trying to get it healthy get them active and Expos into the sport attendance.

All right Lindsay Davenport thanks for your time and appreciate you being here. And a good luck of course in Saint Louis remember foxsports.com has you covered for all your tennis needs. I'm -- the Brock. --
