I think the good and the bad the disappointment of of being a quarterback that had a loss national championship game which is very difficult to overcome. But -- he's a four points didn't. He's got. Great -- and and his family when he came to pro football and college football with -- bad. -- being a tremendous quarterback if not only now but in the NFL -- a lot of Super Bowl. And it took that experience. As tough as it was and he is really is that is that good success to be a better leader. Focus and work really hard in spring practice and we're all excited about watching him play Saturday.

Why you open your season against the right this weekend and it's is that you won ten straight against by an average of thirty points per game. So you keep your guys humble and focused in a match up they consistently dominate.

We have tremendous respect for David -- the eight. Went to deep in the playoffs that -- state a number of years ago. We played rice two years ago and in LA when they won ten games. They've got some transfers in like Sam McKee -- and continued three -- or continue quarterbacks went from. Alabama and one from Miami. So we really are expecting them to come out and and play like it's they're national championship on Saturday they're well coached. We know they're smart they're athletic and now I think there's also up a real strong respect for -- because they all southwest conference days here. Up from our fan base.

Yeah big shake this off season in the big twelve let's go leaving for other conferences now ultimately Texas decide this -- How that decision gonna benefit your school in the end.

We think it was a great decision number one in the highest good coaches will still be able to say they gasp play all the regional conference than. Thing going out west. The parents they're far will be able to draft and a lot of our fans they can't get season tickets at this our home games can drive just. Up to Baylor they can drop Oklahoma State's. It they can get to close the games and and say there's there's signs of life. Or say yes -- plus and that's that's something that was really really important that's the other thing that we didn't want we didn't want to lose the traditions. That'd been built here for many many years with the mailers that Texas Tech -- an even our game with. Texas a and M on Thanksgiving and all of those not have been in jeopardy if we started changing conference's.

Your future plan to use that he won't be Bobby Bowden towards Joe Paterno meaning he might not coach into your eighteenth. Play the way from that number's -- how much longer you gonna cuts.

I have not shared -- lies damn haven't fine and we're winning and it's working for well plus camp and I'll continue to coach we've made this decision was well at 38 at 858. But 'cause we felt like that he was young enough. We -- to stay here for the future. And he wasn't in a hurry to be a head coach and sometimes we're all forced into that a little bit earlier that way we want to be Wales. Got young children and he's -- love being the highest paid defensive coordinator in college football.
