All right that -- Cardinals send Chris Carpenter getting a two year contract extension done it will take him through us. 2013. And not John I know this was something that the Cardinals organization wanted to take care of and He did it today. That's exciting day for us obviously anytime you can secure a pitcher like this caliber -- it and know that we have for the next couple years. Really will help with our offseason strategy and and getting this done now. It's just putting one thing behind us and now we can start thinking about 2000 while planning hazard in October November. It's early on this season worthless like. Carpenter was struggling and maybe it wasn't that Carpenter that everyone in Saint Louis -- at that point that you guys think to yourself maybe won't wait this out or was that not an issue. In terms of how you saw -- future with the organization. We'll address how this process unfold -- no there really wasn't something that we are taking in. -- and I met prior to spring training last year discussed a few things that. It really was just a matter of a lot of different things sort of happening. And and why this got put on hold and there's no doubt that when you look at our performance this year it's probably a lot better than his numbers show it. You know not making excuses for anything had a little bit of a rough stretch but. He can show that He can still be dominant that's what's most important. I know you guys have a long list of things you'd like to get done. At some point before the next season so you -- Carpenter out. You sit there a couple of things you like to get done as quickly as possible -- -- Carpenter was one of them but there's still a couple things you'd like to address. Sooner than later. When you think about what we may have to be faced with this offseason obviously if we can secure -- couple -- deals before we get too far into October and November could be helpful but. You know I don't wanna get herself ahead of our get ahead of ourselves. Early in. -- dialogue open with some agents and we. It's gonna be. Not an enviable task putting this together because you would assume one move -- handgun another Eagles. And the big move was Albert and you're not sure how that's gonna go so how do you set a strategy for figuring out how to put a team together so much uncertainty. Well -- -- the Q there is try to keep all these independent of each other and now you can do they'd be NC and and focus on you later itself. The whole thing all unfold as it does but you know the one thing we try to do is make sure we have flexibility and right now we're still maintain that. And right now with your ball club that's playing very good baseball and and and in the wild card all of a sudden what do you make of the wildcard searched by your. -- about where we are obviously. Still Florida half thousand. Last night was a tough loss and we can take advantage of that but. Everything is getting back to winning ways that the best way to approach anything at this time in years every day that one day at a time so hopefully carcasses garden wouldn't go to W. Not quite sure if he'll pitch what's your sense well He sees any action He as you guys head toward the end of the season. I'm hopeful He gets a couple opportunities out there as I'd like him to feel good about where is -- -- it's back to Venezuela so.
