And that's -- prevalence and benefits. This -- coach -- presented by the GMC never say never moment of the week. There is no bigger battle than the ravens' and the Steelers John -- ball breaks down the big win at Pittsburgh. Packers head coach Mike McCarthy weighs in on the offensive showcase game San Diego. And will drop the stuff with Cowboys defensive line coach Brian Baker all -- Lattimore and coach speak presented by the GMC never say never moment of the week. Welcome coach speak presented by the GMC never say never -- -- of the week. Coming up we talk linebacker -- was Brian Baker of the Cowboys. Mike McCarthy we'll talk about the Packers wild game in San Diego. Barbara Lewis talks about his six and two bad goals and will reveal the nominees for this week's never say never moment of the week. Right now let's welcome in Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. Coach I gotta ask you about the win against Pittsburgh from the standpoint and and I have I was is guilty of it when I was coaching you all say the same thing we just take one game at a time OK I'm with you there I -- I understand that. But that and debates then when you win a game that's just another win. This was more than just another way. Well yes it's more than just another grand emotionally I'm around reliable you know all the issues that. A part of this Ravens Steelers rivalry where it's also more than just another -- because you've got tiebreaker implications in your division you got a few that your out. Fighting for the division. All those things that kind of mathematically determined. Where you stand the playoffs are important too but -- crisper wearing an environment at night. Against Ben Roethlisberger in that defense. No you can't -- Now I did degree base -- Diego game in an obvious with the rolled agreed based on a talk with Mike McCarthy a little bit about. At what point I understand it's just the next game I -- with you there I get that. But at some point you start to widen the view a little bit to dangle that carrot you're guys just mentioned it. You know you you you swept the the the Steelers so that's significant. When you Begin to may be widened to view a little bit about how big this can be home field advantage in the playoffs that type thing. You know I think mostly guys understand that McLaren knows they said you guys. I'm -- I have definitely come over now prepared at that. -- you know I mean it's it's always out there the guys understand those implications every now and then you might sprinkle that into the conversation a little bit to let him know that that. They're mature whereas a coach you know you're not. You're not quite that obtuse you know you see the big picture but then you bring it right back to reality it is a one. Game season and this game potentially can be our whole season. Just for all the reasons you're talking about because it ends up math in the more when you get the better off you are. We talked about obviously the rivalry and I was looking up to be a part of it for nine years. You came from the Philadelphia Eagles team that had some pretty good rivalries to now the Eagles and the Cowboys and the Redskins you've got somebody different ones. So you're the perfect guy to ask tell me about the difference taking nothing away from those but. Ravens Steelers that's that's a different level and it. You don't coach -- -- I don't want -- anywhere -- rivalry because they're great rivalries but there's nothing like Ravens Steelers have been horrible minutes because I think. The Ravens and Steelers both understand that that is a game that is the rivalry. And you know that that we played a Browns really important for the fact really important because -- divisional games. And have a lot of importance but there's nothing like. Trust Ravens Steelers at says it all -- -- that's the only one fault he's point four. When you're watched that game last tired of people watched that game last night and everybody understands a specialness. Yeah and in particular obviously the fan you know what I think I think football fans in general. Get a sense of that because the respect because you're the teams are so familiar army watching that game I was fortunately able to drive up my game was San Diego was driving up to LA it. It reminded me of boxing match between two heavyweight fighters just body blow after body blow. And at the end of the game take you each you don't open it up and tore -- down the field. We know -- to me it's like Ali -- -- know you go back in the sixties early seventies to two fighters are so similar you know and so much at stake. The whole world's watching him. Yeah its like nothing else in football. Now I and I'm gonna go to direction here you can disagree with me if you want it and I know because it's probably one that's gonna aged ten years but that's okay. You're you're young go look at you can take on that. Yeah I know your form you play good defense you run the ball I know the way you wanna win and the way the schedule plays out where you're you're probably gonna have a good opportunity to push that formula but. The more times Joseph Flacco is put in a situation where he has to spread it out. Get into the gun and he prospers and that. Eventually there's going to be those times in the playoffs and championship game and a Super Bowl where it's gonna come down to that is is that not a good thing. That's a great thing I mean you're right it's very important -- -- gotta be part of our formula and you'll get to do so far this year you can think the Cardinals game and even at times this last game obviously the two minute drive. That's -- we were doing. We've got to go to spread people out kind of you're getting ball in the rhythm passing game and we've got to -- to take shots downfield on people you can't you have to run the ball 450 yards and have a great game. You throw the ball for 30300. Yards that's a great game in order to move the ball. The score points you have to go throw the football through. I'm now this week's GMC never say never moment of the week nominees are first nominee -- computer's hard. Arizona had a six game losing streak heading into Sunday's game against St. Louis Rams. A fourth quarter pass interference call Peterson set up Saint Louis kicker Josh Brown for a full potential winning -- that would send Arizona to seventh straight loss. But the kick was blocked. Instead the game went into overtime -- Peterson redeemed himself with a 99 yard punt return for a touchdown. Our second nominee -- Giants quarterback Eli Manning in the first meeting between the Giants the Patriots at Super Bowl 42. Manning helped produce an outcome eerily similar to the fateful Sunday in Glendale Arizona trailing twenty to seventeen with less than two minutes from me. Manning drove the Giants down the field going eighty yards in a minute 21 and capping the drive with a one yard touchdown played tight end Jake Ballard with fifteen seconds left. The 2420 victory moved the Giants to 62. As the New York team remains atop the NFC teams. The check out the third never say never moment of the week nominee -- your favorite go to GMC dot com slash never say never. I'm Mike I loved watching you team play on Sunday obviously a big win -- -- and if you could share a little bit of our conversation. Obviously Aaron Rodgers playing just at an unbelievable level. But I was really intrigued with the receiving -- you put together. There home grown they've been together since day one with Aaron. They just seem to operate on a single wave like I when he Q they think the same day act the same talk about that relationship. All -- it definitely and it's great when you have players come and -- there or you're through after. One another just to watch a grown development. In your injured at all mean it does to signals that. That you have been in in training camp a lot of differ what you're tendencies because I mean it just takes a walk or a not for one another and everybody understands. You know what you just was going to be an inning directly there's a big play productions in our our former group yes. Whether -- particular the rain has some adjustments and there we had to make is also it's random girl on the almost out of distance I -- -- cars handle very well very productive. Well the one touchdown to James Jones -- that at bat which was probably is accurate I don't know if you could generate a computer game. It is more accurately -- that Dinara did but it seems like Karen just step back kind of looked at have been kind of winked and not believable bit man gets under -- Boom they're off and run. Our absolute limit them to play call do adjustments as part of it and in energetic great job of going through things have to. Had momentum and we -- we'll take a gradual but it's great execution on both sports. Yeah I think we talked about -- in in obviously to have such great respect for your defense coordinator Dom Capers. Dobbs being a head coach has that added perspective of knowing what you're dealing with as a head coach. He understands that his defense has to work in conjunction with your offense that as one goes so does the other and working in that combination. Talk about what a luxury it is to have a defense of coordinator that understands that. I anticipate it's a very blustery day at -- -- Obama is an excellent. Football coach but he understands the big picture you're talking about a man it's. Taken two different organizations. And built from the ground up so you know anytime you have thicker. Decisions that need to be made that -- vestiges of the team that may not know definitely the best for the defense. He's the first one that understands and -- it can always trust in my work so he's he's been. A great a lot partner -- in his time here in a row is very much so what is your. Finally coach wanna talk about what we've we've visited about -- obviously you're all about the next game that's been your secret till I hear from the players constantly. That's just the way it is. But you talked about once you get to those double digit wins that put you on a certain course. People are gonna talk about the undefeated season you can use that as a motivation but you've got to be. Very careful how you go about it talk about about how you approach that aspect of it. Well just like you said about I think -- conversations that that's for dogs. It is about winning it's it's about rowing in will do everything. We can and that's number one of messages or football team to stay on course. We set our goals. Disliked everybody doesn't give me here in our goals are clearly into one of divisions. Home total -- and when the suitable so we're we're gonna do whatever we need to do to stick horse -- that. In it -- all the games falls in -- with that then I'm all for us we're. Talk about the line stuff a lot on the show but this week we're gonna throw your curve ball. Cowboys' defense -- line coach Brian Baker shows us a stunt that ball the linebacker on this week's Billick wanna once. Coach did give some great stuff last year when I ask you for number one -- one was 21 that ball the linebacker now and obviously the techniques and the way you're gonna set up the defense line. Now all the linebacker spots. Okay will want America or expressly against guys who liked it. Get the top of their drop and then step off the rhythm goes and recognizes. In some comments no -- okay you didn't have taken advantage of the three guys who typically are though the aura of the pass -- I mean he's -- -- -- There's a lot of okay so Barnes artsy McDonald explains that. So so you you know you you like to be able to mix it up there blessed that things. You know makes a quarterback claustrophobic as you -- -- some -- And one of the ones that I -- -- because it involves all three of these guys. In terms of containing okay -- organization where you have the linebacker. Okay to have this back which is typical smooth and tipping tipping things off typically is in the -- -- -- -- as it. As a safety safety as alternative. -- it stands title possibly back -- point vision and balance up short so it was pretty easy that way okay. Typically with this type of protection against the senators forward Monica. So you end up again have a chance to -- -- -- -- -- starts and that kind of thing from the standpoint. Are one of the things -- like from that position. Is starting this linebacker into this hip because it gives those guys the appearance of -- to go out and get most protection schemes. -- -- who's aren't even block one -- one man for one apple one man who won. What are okay obviously in this position here this was born in baton okay. This would also Mike and starts OK for -- that would do great would give us a great opportunity to get through that assessment. Islamist. Vince that haven't taken jab step process OK you are -- you have this three technique. You blitz you might backer he ends up being prepared hands of being in the middle part eruption okay. And determined enough man pressure OK we talked earlier about four -- government more lines. Now fifty as the fifth -- he has the middle accurate so hands off -- -- new Russian. Okay -- this that I think suggests that potential regard OK he's back outside. He respect and he's come around and really you're going to be a yeah pressure and then that fixed on his basically off of these two guys that depends on what happened with the senate. The soon comes this hard to that took that -- certainly taken that position. And my back is able to get penetration. Okay he takes is that he plays off the right. He says that he comes around and -- -- you end up -- change rush lanes all of us are great restaurants are. Okay these guys in his hands there responsibility is they still -- -- in the days. Contain -- OK and again remember containers. And out okay -- regionals big. Alleys and cameras were quarterback chemistry he still -- nice Russia over his his his deal is this. He cannot be on me in side of the quarterbacks currently. Can agree that tackle appeals. Squads that yes -- he's got to get back -- because we containing quarterback in there. Are so these guys and contained -- Okay this and his work into the outside -- shoulder quarterback. We're read a whole lot of pressure here because guys are not where it started out being okay I'm Lester effect in the fifth in the guy who. Being on all three of these people a guy who is over involved. In passing things off is that back I mean most office according -- short side motivate you to go out what was that has -- their block somebody gave America. And I have a gap pass off balance and do those birdies no way -- -- So have a chance of creating some confusion inside because these guys initial alignments. Tendencies in those alignments and things do is give us an opportunity great pressure inside. Good detail ourselves. Coach -- just spoke with John Harbaugh obviously a big win for them over Pittsburgh and and I'm interested I know you all always focused on it's just the next game. It's just the next opponent. And and but this is the Pittsburgh Steelers mean -- how that changes the demeanor that. Holding a little bit. Well I think go to number one. We know that in the nine years I've been here they've made three trips to the Super Bowl. So. This divisions. Still runs in Pittsburgh you're here. And now we know it's going to be physical football. It's now we're playing division -- football over the next few weeks. And we know how physical this division is and so we've got to be prepared. It was kind of funny in the locker room after the game with our better players explain these young guys what's up next. Right now they got no idea what that what that really is you know. I've been able to get glimpses of watching the progression of Andy Dalton I'm so impressed but Cowboys as when we worked together -- love a defense of perspective. Obviously your head coach which you have that defense of background. Tell me about the progression you've seen in him from week one till today. I think the biggest thing is being the thing acted. You know what if we have to punt the ball it's not there yet. But is defense coach -- -- this. You know it's okay we're gonna have other opportunities. This kid overall with silence talk about it and let's get ready to go back and look for the next series. Well here are deep at the record. Interact with Mike in terms of the game plan any of put you might give him an option of patience can you guys are playing brilliant defense. Well I think really for both offense and defense I try to. Give them you know my thoughts on Monday Tuesday sit down with them is they're beginning to put the plan together and trying to interject. What I see. I think Mike does an excellent job. Taken away your opponent's strength. And that's really what he wants to focus on right away and you really get our players in tune with it but. I'm I'm trying to be summer you don't want to be in basket. -- know you you know did -- with muted we would talk on Tuesday night he wanted to know what my thoughts were where we were edited -- And it kind of the same thing Michael. Really I hate Mike and I see the same way and if we ever disagree I'm -- the birdie you know because he's the one that has to call the game on Sunday. Went when you look at the league as a whole cause obviously. You're right there in the thick of division but obviously as we progressed around the second half of the season. Wild card implications are factors well you always hope that care for your team. Outside of maybe the Green bay Packers and and there are third out wire to one side so clearly I just had their game their magnificent. You look at the rest the league now. We're all just clump up and and and you look at some wins and losses going hey I did see that commented that it just tells me. Everybody's right there we talk about your perspective of the league right now in that it's just all seem to be called together. Well I really tried to tell our players that it you know do this this last game against Tennessee was important for that. A few weeks ago we played Buffalo that was important for that all AFC teams that we know at the end of the year. Will hopefully be in the thick of things with. I'm trying to battle for those -- spots where does winning your division or not but they are AFC teams we want to be in the thick of the battle. -- these are important games for us if we get in the tiebreak situations. We know that you know what. Lies ahead -- this division eight games left we just got to put our head down and go play. But an exciting time we've done a good job Bob Hope I might have -- Arizona game there at Cincinnati reporters seed. Okay Brian I think you talked to you. Not much time for Billick ran and you know we've heard for awhile now the idea of sock for a lot. Those teams that are at the bottom in the league right now and some of the fans are thinking go ahead and lose the games because that would give us the first pick of the draft. And we could get Andrew Luck and I understand that. They're not gonna throw games to get Andrew -- trust me but when you get to the end. They may be thinking this guy is as clean quarterback as I've ever seen coming out sense we talked about John Elway. Some people are saying since Peyton Manning but let's remember we got some questions about Peyton Manning coming out compared to a Ryan -- Andrew Luck is going to be the number one pick. But it's interesting I'll also hearing people say no no no get that early pick fall back in get a Matt Barkley from USC -- -- -- tell -- right now. That ain't gonna happen if you have an opportunity to take a once in A lifetime once in -- era quarterback like Andrew Luck. You can't be stupid enough to pass up that guy Matt Barkley might be a pretty good quarterback. But there are going to be questions about him you can not pass up a sure thing. Like you can't Andrew Luck if you do a wanna get a chair sit right here next to me because they'll be two of us doing the coach's show. Because this is not going to be a Smart thing to do you might look at the -- but I'll tell you right now. Andrew Luck is a can't miss quarterback in this league and if you -- an opportunity to take him you take him. You have a question I wanted to ask -- and. -- head coach send a tweet to meet act coach Miller warning bell to coach speak at fox dot com. This week I'm in Chicago for the lines -- -- so if you have a question for Lovie Smith or Jim Schwartz said this -- your question may get on the air. -- do -- for this week's episode of coach speak presented by the GMC never say never moment of the week make sure to tune in next Tuesday for another great show have a great weekend everybody.
