But foxsports.com -- have been sitting here with lion head coach Jim Schwartz to I was just asking how are you glad that we are going to have a nice pleasant -- exchange yet I was told. Fun. Well there thirty NFL coaches that are just doing fine are OK there's two guys that are doing good. And as long -- it's going to be doing great here a couple of years ago when I wanted to ask you how long it take to get over the Los students that aren't you all. That coach is never get over losses. You know and it doesn't go to same with wins and a lot of coaches and wants to walls I know none of them know where the Super Bowl rings. Because it's always about -- -- gonna do next and you know you move on to the next thing but every single coach. Carries every single loss of their career. And a backpack and they never let go somewhere -- the same -- -- your shoulders handle that how does your stomach to handle that I have no idea how you're able to handle that week to week to week year to year yet. The only way you can improve is to sort of analyze what happened and why you lost and learn from it to be able to move on I think it's one of the best things that bill Belichick's they would do. Very very analytical and everything that they do and the reason he's successful now is maybe because of some of the things that needed that success was earlier in his career. Hopefully we can lose -- thing in Detroit. Still -- we're able to take a little part of what happened in Detroit because that city was I mean just it was such a wonderful -- story and I know from covering a few of your games a season. Just being around the city. Absolutely. Just it almost became the city's personnel think with the winning we were able to take it in we were able to enjoy what they were doing. Detroit's great sports town and you know the Red Wings have won Stanley cups and the Pistons have won NBA championships and tiger's been back to World Series and was about time for alliance to sort of pick up the slack in there too but. I think we've we definitely feel that. And as the Lions sort of comeback as -- city of Detroit. Coaches always talk about. Especially taking over a losing team man no one is that more experience that witness than you taking over -- sixteen team and then -- and then two wins -- six within ten went. But the -- at the end you have to have the confidence to start winning that you have to start winning an order to build the confidence what came first with -- -- the first thing is put good players on the field. And you know obviously we -- Calvin Johnson there you know lots made of Matt Millen is. Regime with the Detroit Lions well one of the best decisions anyone in the NFL's ever made -- Calvin Johnson. So he was already in place but one of those silver linings of -- no one's sixteen and taken over that team -- we had the first pick of the draft. We had the opportunity to draft a franchise quarterback in Matt Stafford. You know that'll lead us for a long period of time -- everywhere and -- just turning it around short term. You know that this thing is be successful over a long period of time. You know Stafford threw for 5000 yards before he returned 44 years old. You know Tom Brady was playing in this game -- fourth NFL championship to -- -- NFL pass before he was 24 years old. So you know I think that you know. Getting those players on the field hitting good quality players drafting well acquired veteran players like Kyle Vanden Bosch Nate Burleson obviously made a difference but. You know as the biggest thing with culture change is put into players on the field and and also having a person who do perseverance to be able to deal with the rough spots. And one of the lessons I've loved talking to you guys late in the season. But that you have to help with in terms of the discipline and what they were saying was when you're only sixteen -- in -- fighting for respect. And you're trying to have that provide Arab and all of a sudden. You're trying to have that but at the same time you don't needed if you're not now no one's going in in expecting to win like they used to when they go to Detroit. How did you get that shift in the guys' heads knowing that they could still had that attitude without. Doing the dumps off on the field. Well we want to be known as tough physical team but we wanna be known for what happens to snap in a whistle not anything else when a team talks a whole lot. You know we wanna -- out there and play. Let you know middle of the season we had some stuff on our resonated really was an -- we need to get off of a particularly -- Green Bay game. And the Norman's game we have four flags for stuff that happened after the whistle. And in Detroit we have a lot of experience with dealing with failure. But you said there's a lot of things you can play for you're losing forty enough -- nobody notices when -- personal foul on the fourth quarter might make you feel good because I really got that guy back. But it didn't hurt the team you're you're losing forty nothing we were at a different spot we started off fast this year -- five -- -- We went to a period beginning in the middle with the year career struggle. But I think we've learned some of those lessons -- lessons learned what had to deal with success. You know like is that we have a lot of experience dealing with failures and and coming back from -- sixteen in the team always play hard regardless of you know there losses but deal with success is a little different you know there's no about a model than look at -- team -- and deal with success than going -- Patriots. Bill Belichick's him keep that team focused thirteen and three or you know sixteen and no. You know you I'm sure they always feel like behavior still grind them haven't arrived you know even though they've won three championships. You know it's all about what happens next I think our guys have a lot of that same attitude. And I get that perspective changes a lot different you get that -- the end of a game that means the playoffs as opposed to a game -- finishing the season and nobody else really notice. Let's -- business before I let you go. You know you're talking about five hour energy which I loved that they have a coach talking about this because. If soon you are on feed him most of today -- of the nineties -- -- yeah well. You know we work a hundred hours a week during the season and our players usually get to the office between 630 and seven summary even before that the -- -- by about 430. We sort of second shift as coaches right now. Can't stand the taste coffee -- -- -- put about a thousand calories and cut it to five -- -- been perfect for me via transition from losing or. Players leave it and having that second shift. And be able to go another eight hours. That it's at Detroit company. Not that -- that the Lions so that's wonderful with that with with the entire -- always great to see things so much for stopping not. Nice double coverage nature to keep it on down right here fox sports stack up.
