B2G steps it up with Elite Camp on UCLA campus

The 14th B2G Elite Camp went off last weekend without a hiccup. Some of the top players from across the country invaded the UCLA campus, making it one of the best camps yet.
All of those players couldn't stay the entire weekend because of other obligations, yet for Allen that brought a lot of satisfaction.
15 players left the camp early to head to the Pacific Northwest for The Opening an to Allen, that spoke to the type of talent B2G was able to attract in its own right.
"(We) definitely had an increase in talent than what we're accustomed to," Allen said. "I think that it's a sign that we've stepped up in our recruiting, if you will, because we've never had that many guys go to The Opening before."
There was a last minute scheduling mishap that caused the overlap with the B2G Elite Camp and The Opening. It's something both hope won't happen in the future, Allen says.
The camp featured 85 players, each on an invite-only basis. They spent three days and three nights on the UCLA campus where they were under the rigors of a collegiate schedule in order to duplicate what it will be like once they make it to the next level.
Of the 85 players, 20 were from out-of-state which was another major coup for B2G.
"We definitely haven't (had that many out-of-state players attend the camp before)," Allen said.
B2G is even hoping the cast the net wider. The company has plans to do more camps in the southern part of the United States as well as in the Midwest ahead of next year's camp. Allen says that will allow them to work with more players they normally wouldn't have the chance to prior to the camp.
He'd also like to host another preliminary event prior to the Elite Camp to "make it that much more prestigious."
Over 30 percent of B2G alumni have gone on to start as true freshman at the collegiate level. Alumni include Denver Broncos cornerback Omar Bolden, Washington Redskins tight end Logan Paulsen, and Seattle Seahawks All-Pro Richard Sherman.
