Athletic Director Pat Haden clearly doesn’t think Enfield will have a problem.
“With all due respect, taking a good look at Andy and then taking a good look at his wife, Amanda, it’s obvious that he’s got an eye for talent and he’s an exceptional recruiter,” Haden said, before welcoming the two to USC at Wednesday’s introductory news conference.
Enfield and his wife, Amanda Marcum, have seen their profile rise quickly after he led Florida Gulf Coast on its improbable run through the NCAA tournament. Marcum, a former swimsuit model who left the trade behind to start a family with Enfield, was a hot topic at the Galen Center on Wednesday.
“Amanda is from a small town outside of Oklahoma City and her father had season tickets to Oklahoma State football and basketball. She liked college football and basketball more than I do,” Enfield said. “Amanda would go to a sports bar in Manhattan by herself and tell the bartender to put on an Oklahoma State football game.
“She would sit by herself and watch OSU football and I said, ‘That’s the kind of girl I want to be married to.’ ”
As the duo posed for pictures with the USC Song Girls, it was clear that while Enfield was the main event, Marcum knows how to steal the show.
