Kobe Bryant, in an interview on TWC SportsNet's 'Connected With ...', stated his intentions of staying with the Lakers for the remainder of his career.
"I was born a Laker, so I look forward to dying one," Bryant said, per Kevin Ding of Bleacher Report.
Bryant, still recovering from surgery on his Achilles tendon, will eventually return to the Lakers active roster for his 18th NBA season.
Bryant's contract status has been a hot topic this week, in which team executive vice president Jim Buss said the Lakers won't let him become a free agent after this season.
"That's not going to happen. Kobe is a top priority for us," Buss told ESPNLosAngeles.com on Friday night. "He's a Laker legend and always will be. I don't think we're done winning championships with him yet."
Despite not playing in Tuesday night's season-opening win over the Clippers, Bryant shared a moment at the game with another Los Angeles sports star -- the Dodgers' Yasiel Puig.
