Brewers place Green, Rogers on 15-day DL

Green has a left hip labral injury, and his stint on the disabled list will be retroactive to March 22. That makes him eligible to be activated April 6. Fighting for one of the final spots on Milwaukee's bench, Green injured his hip while taking batting practice before a March 19 spring training game against the Angels.
Before the injury all but ended his chances of making the Opening Day roster, Green was hitting just .139 in 36 spring training at bats.
Rogers' injury is one that baffled the Brewers and is officially listed as right shoulder instability. He made his first start in 12 days Sunday against Colorado but still couldn't find his usual velocity, topping out at 89 miles per hour.
The drop in velocity has been a mystery all spring and has led to struggles on the mound. Rogers has a 7.00 ERA in nine spring innings, falling out of the running for a spot in the starting rotation fairly early in camp.
Out of minor league options and not pitching well enough to warrant a spot in the bullpen, Rogers will be able to use the time on the disabled list to rebuild strength in his shoulder. The 27-year-old 2004 first-round pick doesn't have anything structurally wrong in the shoulder but has a history of shoulder issues. The Brewers are hoping he can return to the form he flashed late last season, when he went 3-1 with a 3.92 ERA in seven starts after a call-up from Triple-A Nashville.
