Zetterberg tiring of Red Wings squandering late leads

Henrik Zetterberg isn't one to overreact to a loss, although the Detroit Red Wings captain wasn't too pleased to see the team's third-period troubles rear their ugly head on Monday.

Zetterberg witnessed Detroit squander a lead in the final session of regulation for the ninth time in 14 contests in its 2-1 setback to the Atlantic Division-rival Buffalo Sabres on Monday. The 35-year-old Swede told reporters that the Red Wings need to answer the bell after this latest example.

On the offensive end, Zetterberg saw his four-game point streak come to a halt on Monday.

Buffalo scored twice in a 61-second stretch with less than five minutes remaining to dump Detroit, which entered the contest on a 13-game point streak.

"We've been playing a little bit sloppier lately, so maybe this was a little wakeup call here. We've just got to get back to playing the right way for 60 minutes."
