Eagles QB Vick breaks hand vs. Giants

Published Sep. 25, 2011 1:00 a.m. ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick broke his right hand and was forced out of Sunday's 29-16 loss to the New York Giants.

"It's just unfortunate, " Vick said. "I got hit late. There was no flag. That's it."

Asked if he'll be able to play in the next game, "I don't know."

Vick had his right hand wrapped with ice during the Eagles' postgame news conference. He had received X-rays to his right hand earlier in the second half, although he didn’t miss a snap.

Mike Kafka entered the game in place of Vick.

Vick's status for this game was in doubt after he sustained a concussion in last week’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. But he got the start and was 16-for-23 with 176 yards passing, no touchdowns and one interception before he left the game with 11 minutes left in regulation.

Vick also had 31 yards rushing on seven attempts.
