The thief had on a Sanchez jersey

Published Oct. 13, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

Detectives in Indian River County, Fla., are looking for a “white male with a tan complexion” wearing a green Mark Sanchez Jets jersey, who is suspected of robbing an area video game store.

Fortunately for Sanchez, there is video evidence that shows that the suspect actually looks nothing like the injured Jets quarterback. On Thursday, the man in the No. 6 jersey robbed a GameStop 11:15 a.m. outside the Indian River Mall in Vero Beach, Fla., according to TCPalm.com (with a helmet sticker to Busted Coverage).

The suspect had a chipped tooth, and demanded cash from the employee behind the counter while showing a gun in his waistband, according to the local sheriff’s office. The faux Sanchez was able to get away with an unspecified amount of cash, merchandise and the employee’s wallet and cell phone.

Police say they are searching for a white, compact four-door vehicle that left the scene. Check out surveillance photo of the suspect below, courtesy of TCPalm.com.

Look, we already know Sanchez is not dead. He's not wanted by the cops either. The only thing Sanchez is guilty of is being a mediocre NFL QB and yelling at Jets GM John Idzik after having season-ending shoulder surgery. He's too busy making terrible Instagram videos to be worried about robbing a game store anyway.
