Full compliment of Sabres' draft picks now set

Published May. 15, 2015 11:02 a.m. ET

After all the commotion surrounding the Sabres' first pick of the 2015 NHL Draft, the revelation about when they would pick for the second time in the first round was a much quieter affair.

The Sabres acquired a second first-round pick from the New York Islanders thanks to the Thomas Vanek trade. According to Sabres fan website Die by the Blade, the pick from the Islanders turns into the No. 21 overall selection since the Islanders lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Washington Capitals.

Buffalo has four picks in the first two rounds (No. 2, No. 21, No. 31, No. 51) and seven picks overall. The team is expected to take Jack Eichel with the No. 2 pick, but the other six picks will be a surprise until draft day.
