Alcides Escobar - Not in Monday's lineupEscobar (wrist) isn't starting Monday's game against the Phillies, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
ImpactEscobar will be out of the lineup for a third consecutive game due to swelling in his wrist that surfaced when he was hit by a pitch Tuesday. He underwent an MRI on his right wrist that came back clean Sunday, but Adrian Sanchez will take his place at the keystone and bat second.

Kyle Finnegan - Picks up relief winFinnegan (4-2) earned the win in relief Sunday against the Cubs after pitching a scoreless inning.
ImpactFinnegan tossed a scoreless frame in the top of the ninth and only needed 15 pitches to get the job done, extending his streak of scoreless appearances to eight in a row. The right-hander, who's expected to work as the Nationals' primary closer following the departures of Brad Hand and Daniel Hudson (COVID-19 protocols), has been pitching well over the last few weeks and owns a 1.42 ERA across 12 appearances (12.2 innings) since the beginning of July.

Erick Fedde - Fans eight in quality startFedde didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Cubs after allowing three runs on four hits (two home runs) and a walk while fanning eight across six innings.
ImpactFedde was originally expected to start Saturday's game but ended being pushed one day. He still delivered a strong outing, though, as the eight strikeouts represented his second-best output of the year in that category and also tossed his second quality start over his last three appearances. Despite the decent performance against the Cubs, the fact that Fedde has been struggling of late can't be overlooked. He owns a 7.24 ERA and a 1.68 WHIP over his last six appearances since the beginning of July.

Yadiel Hernandez - Blasts walkoff homerHernandez went 4-for-5 with two home runs and three total RBI in Sunday's win over the Cubs.
ImpactHernandez kicked things off in the bottom of the third with an RBI single that scored Josh Bell, and he capped his day with two blasts -- a solo shot in the seventh and a walkoff bomb in the ninth off reliever Manuel Rodriguez. The outfielder extended his hitting streak to four games as a result and now he has at least one extra-base hit in each one of those contests.

Manuel Rodríguez - Takes loss in reliefRodriguez (0-1) took the loss in relief Sunday against the Nationals after allowing one run on one hit.
ImpactRodriguez entered the game in the bottom of the ninth inning with a 5-5 tie but only lasted one batter, as Yadiel Hernandez greeted him with a blast to left center field that gave the Nationals a walkoff win. This was Rodriguez's second appearance of the season after being called up in late July following the trade deadline, and there's not a lot of clarity regarding his role going forward considering all the trades the Cubs made over the last few days.
