ImpactAfter a shaky spring debut, Gray was able to hit his spots better in his second outing. The 24-year-old is locked into a rotation spot for the Nationals to begin the season, and his ability to stay out of the middle of the plate will be one of the keys to his development in 2022 after he posted an ugly 2.42 HR/9 and 5.48 ERA over his first 70.2 big-league innings last year.

Andrew Stevenson - Likely to win roster spotStevenson is out of minor-league options, giving him an edge in the battle for a spot on the Nationals' bench this spring, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
ImpactThe 27-year-old saw the most action of his career last season but failed to seize the opportunity, managing only a .633 OPS in 213 plate appearances with a 28.6 percent strikeout rate against only a 6.1 percent walk rate.
