Keury Mella - Inks minor-league deal with PiratesMella reported to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday after recently signing a minor-league contract with the Pirates, Jake Crouse of MLB.com reports.
ImpactMella was DFA'd by the Diamondbacks in mid-June and the right-hander was later released on July 28. The reliever has pitched in the majors in five different seasons, with his best showing coming a year ago when he posted a 1.80 ERA across 10 innings with Arizona. He'll report to Indianapolis for the time being but could become an option to join the Pittsburgh bullpen later in 2021.

Anthony Banda - Activation coming WednesdayManager Derek Shelton said that Banda is expected to be activated Wednesday, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
